So I bought a brand new '12 Zx6r from Kahuna. The deal included fender elim kit, spools, full tank(I paid for it) and first service free. Norm was the guy i dealt with, nice guy in my opinion. Picked up the bike and boy i can't tell you how good it felt. I left the dealership with a ginormous smile and I probably rode 3km when the fuel light came on, what the...i paid for gas how is this possible?? It was cold and I didn't want to go back so i just filled up gas and got home.

When I got home I tried the spools but they won't fit. It turns out they gave me the wrong one. Nice!!! Tried to put the fender elim kit, it wont line up either!! Well for that I just drilled a hold and it worked.Another thing I forgot to mention is that I did not receive a checklist from Kahuna showing the technician checked everything on the bike and that it is safe to ride.

I emailed Norm explaining everything and he actually apologized for it and told me to come on Monday and fixed everything.

Well for me it was a bad experience but probably turned out good. It seems they do not really care about their customer(s). And did i mention this was the second time I bought a bike from them!!! and may be last time.

Sh*t happens. Move on. enjoy the bike. At least they corrected everything for you.

Lol... Someone pocketed your gas money.

Well it seems that this Norm guy cared enough that he wants to rectify the problem. So did he take care of it? Cold or not for 3km I would've turned back and tell them to fill up the tank. Why would you start drilling holes? If it doesn't line up tell they should be fixing it. You're gonna have to go back and get the correct spools anyways.

Like I said Norm is a nice guy to deal with. I was just sharing my experience. And for the fender elim they said it is kind of standard.

I've reached the stage in my life if someone wronged me they are not longer a nice guy. If u pay for something it should be delivered, or else its a rip off

Just my 2 cents...have bought 2 bikes from Norm...Never a problem...if anything was not quite right Norm fixed it up. My ex gf bought a bike from him.Was a sweet deal. No question about it, if I was looking for a bike. I would never hesitate to go to Norm. Honest and that is unusual for now days.

the person i bought my ninja from got his pazzo levers from kahuna, basically he had them also install them, they gave him the wrong ones and said after trying to install them they couldn't get them to fit and they would have to modify them. basically they gave him the wrong ones and seeing how they install these, pretty sure they knew these were the wrong ones and still didn't get him the right ones.

on another note i got a helmet from them a few months back good experience.

+1
Bought two bikes from Norm also. Excellent person to deal with ..upfront and honest....

I've heard a lot of negative things about Kahuna. I've never purchased a bike from them but I've always had good experiences with their accessories dept.

their service department is a joke.... and parts only wants to help out when they feel like it or they see a juicy customer.... so far only good experience has been with norm(sold me my bike) and only norm has bothered to call back and check up on me

I bought three bikes from Norm and never had a problem. I have had Kahuna do service work on my bike and they did a good job but they are vey expensive.
Cheers.

I agree too y would anyone want to drill holes on a brand new bike. Same with the spools, since they screwed on so many levels I'd expect as a goodwill gesture install everything for u for free. Btw these bikes have been around for while if they still get simple things like spools and fender eliminator wrong, I wouldn't go back to them for service. I went to 3 dealers last yr for my first ninja I found snow city to be up front and n bs service, quoted me a price and hst on top. No other hidden charges like admin fees, install fees and other add ons. Bought the bike was very happy with the service.

I bought my ninja 250 from kahuna.

No missing paperwork, nothing screwed up, I think I paid for $10 worth of gas and it was filled up close to half a tank which is about right (since it costs about $20 to fill up from completely empty). Also did my 1000km first service there too, and while it was pricey for the work that was done, it would be the same at pretty much any other shop.

No complaints, but nothing to rave about. Price of the bike was good, although I think the dealer fees were a bit high so if I was going to buy another new bike in the future I'd shop around.

I love it when people fix things themselves and complain after... especially when they didn't even tell the shop what happened.

Didn't you say he fixed everything?

well i went back and got the right spools (installed), full tank and paper work. So I am happy :)

Norm is a good guy. I know him well. He was very helpful when I was shopping for a bike and when I ended up going with another dealer (since they don't carry BMW), he didn't mind at all and was very supportive. The only experience I had with the service department was horrible. They sent me home with a bad battery after I told them to check it...I was stranded a few blocks away from leaving the dealership and they didn't come with a boost for about two hours. Needless to say, I would never go there again for service.
