Don't beat me but need to start planning for a February trip. Looking for an outfitters that you can stay, rent and pet friendly. Originally thought of Alberta/BC but now thinking within an 8 hr drive. Don't wanna fly with dawg.

Quebec?

Just looking for some recommendations if anyone has done a vacation like this.

Thx

Quebec is more like about a 12 hour drive. Love Mt St Anne. The mountain is great. Quebec city is a fun city. February the weather shouldn`t be too cold. Have spent many a Christmas there. Friggin cold but loads of fun. You have choices to either stay in Quebec City and party. (About an hour drive to Mt St Anne) Or on the mountain or about half way between the two.

Or of course Mt Tremblant. About a 6 1/2 drive.

This is just a sample of places.

I usually stay between the two at St Anne De Beaupre

Ok
Im from quebec city so i have a HUGE BIAS towards it.

I love it, i always have stuff to do.

Do you ski/snowboard? if so, fun factor just increased by 5.
Within 45 minutes of downtown QC you have
Mont Ste-Anne
Le Relais
Stoneham
then for an additional half hour you get the Massif of St-Francois river (tallest mount in the province, amazing view)

If not there are other things to look at. In february they have the Winter Carnival so thats something to look for, tons of restaurants on Grande-Allee st, Cartier st and St-Jean street
Youre gonna have to eat poutine at Ashton's
Go shopping at Place Laurier or Galeries de la Capitale.
Go chill at the Plains of Abraham
2 bigger museums to check out
etc etc

EDIT) and i do Brampton - Qc city in 8 hours. I stop once to gas up at exit 696 in brockville and keep going.
Sometimes takes me less time.
Its 800 km... so basically should be 8 hours unless you stop several times

You have good reason to be bias. Personally I love everything about Quebec city. Love the food, the people, what is not to love. ( Absolutely loved the Grand -Allee) Yes I agree with the 8 hours, however, I would travel with a group of Brits who love to party. Hence the longer time. We made a meal out of the distance.

If youre looking for a sweet trip with cool people I'd head over to snowboardingforum.com and check out their east coast meet. I've done it twice and had a blast.

The drive can be longer/shorter. He skis I board and we both skate.
Those would be fun side trips, but not really what I'm into for this vacation.

I'm looking for an outfitters, not interested in a diy organized trip. Alberta has sled/hillclimbing tours that I've been checking out. Would really like a personal recommendation.

Randomhero thanks for the idea. Not for the meet but the forum. Gotta be a sled forum with some reviews.

Head over to dootalk.com and go in to the Canada section of the forum. I'm sure people will have ideas for you.

I was going to go do a mountain ride with a company in Revelstoke. "flatland" trail riding has lost its appeal to me and my mxz x 800 short track can't do the off trail stuff that interests me. Was thinking of selling the sled and just doing a week long rental trip out west every year instead. Costs about the same for my costs to operate for a season, but more fun.

Im sure you'll love the trails in Quebec. I'm doing a weekend in feb there with a large group of people (around 50) and it will be a blast.
