Thanks for the reply,I am quite okay with the condition of the
merchandise and I will like to let you know that am buying it for my
Son in Kansas, whom i promised since so i want it to be a surprise
package as i wont let him know about it until it has been delivered to
him, I would have come to check and see it myself but due to the
nature of my work and my present location, as i am posted to Canada
with the American Navy as i work as Military Guard Doctor,so i can't
come. I would be responsible for the delivery to him, I will paying
you via PayPal because i don't have access to my bank account online
as i don't have internet banking and there is no chance for me to send
either a Cheque or Money Order but i can pay from my PayPal account,
as i have my bank a/c and my Credit Card attached to it, I do have a
pick up agent that will pickup and deliver it to home after payment
has been settled. I will be responsible for delivery and insurance
expenses too...Please i would like you to answer some few questions as
below and get back to me with your paypal email so i can make the
payment effectively if you don't have a paypal account. It is the most
convenient, safe and fast means of receiving money. You can set-up one
securely online at www.paypal.com, do get back to me as soon as
possible so i can proceed with payment.....
Are you the first owner ???
Does it have any mechanical disabilities presently?
I am offering you the asking price
Please do get back to me with your PayPal email so i can make the
payment as I will like the pick up scheduled asap.
Warm regards.

What do you guys think

Run fast. Run far.

Thanks guys. Can someone examine how this scam works? Is there a way to scam back to teach them a lesson?

Lol poor english and an over-accommodating attitude are good indications of a scam right off the bat. Recently, the english has been getting better though.

Scam.

Send him a toy model of a bike.

Or make a fake paypal account and when he sends you the fake payment tell him it is all good and you can pick the pick up at "Insert your local police stations address here"

I'd give the scammer 24 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, as the pickup address;)

i got these guys buying everything from phones to bikes.
basically after he'll send you a fake paypal email saying payments been collected but until your deal is complete or you send tracking number it wont be released to you
the emails are obviously fake. like random emails with just the name Paypal Pay or something
last time i just went along pretended that i shipped whatever and that i got the payment
guy even kept asking telling me i should see the money. do i see the money.
and i kept going yea its all good.

There is no way to scam them back. They don't actually want the bike, even if you offered to give it to them for free.

What they do is send you a fake e-mail that looks like it's from PayPal. It says he's paid you $6000 but they are holding it, because you have to pay his shipping company first or whatever. They say once you send him the $800 shipping fee by Western Union they'll release the $6000 and off you go.

So there is no way to scam them back unfortunately, because they don't even want the bike, just the $800 or whatever.

Clue # 1 they don't even say Motorcycle. Merchandise is generic and they just paste it on any ad they hit.

^ This. They use generic words (i.e. don't mention your item by name) and have poor English and grammar. Sometimes you'll even exchange a few emails with them before they bust out the PayPal request.

I put up an ad for my bike a few months ago and got a slew of these emails on a regular basis. The scam must be working, because it's definitely gotten much worse.
