Smart phone plans - what do you have/pay?

I'm in desperate need of a phone upgrade as my trusty Blackberry after the 200th hard drop sans case has rendered it almost completely useless aside from texting and BBM. More than likely going to an Iphone4S, for the sole reason that I have an ipad and bought a million and one apps already.... let's not turn this into a "my phone is better than your phone" ******** debate, as there's already a pathetic thread about that.

I'm with Rogers, been with them for a while so I'm sure I'm eligible for quite an upgrade - as well I have home phone, digital cable, internet, and another cell phone bundled so I'm sure that gives me some bargaining leverage

I always hear about people with RIDICULOUS plans paying half of what I am ... what's the deal here? Call up retentions and annoy the **** out of everyone for days until you get what you want? Veiled threats? Sexual favours?

my monthly bill is $76 taxes in
500 meg data transfer , unlimited text/emails/mms, voicemail, call display, 6pm evenings, 200 day time, blah blah

I pay 85 and get 2000 anytime north american mins, unlimited incoming in canada, unlimited evenings and weekends north american 6 pm, 6 gigs data, unlimited texts, pic and vid messaging.. I got a 400 business credit, 100 samsung credit, and 150 on a pre paid mastercard, and got my S2 free
My kids each have 1000 mins, unlimited incoming, unlimited evenings and weekends from 6pm unlimited pic, text and vid messaging, 3 gigs data there's is 67 taxes in

That same plan should run you around $50 now, right off the website without even dealing with customer retention.

Not sure if retentions has the same effect like it used to, just too many people got on the bandwagon and took advantage of it. Lots of ways to get a great plan though, keep your eye on any deals as they come up and switch, every so often they come out with something that will save you here and there. Just keep doing it until you whittle away at your monthly costs. For instance, I was paying $40 ($20 for each line) for a Value Pack from Rogers. This was for VVM, call disp, txt, etc. A while back they had a 50% off deal, so I called and switched my value pack. I actually decided to get rid of texting at that time since most everyone I know has an iPhone (and consequently uses iMessage - apple's version of BBM) and I already have my5 Canwide for those that don't. I went from $40 to $12.79 for 2 lines in one call.

My total bill is double digits taxes in for 2 lines sharing 1GB, 500 min, VVM, CW and all that other value pack stuff, nights weekends, free calling between the 2 lines. Mind you I've been with them for a while now.
 
65$/month with Virgin mobile get 1 GB data, free txt messages , 200 min after 6 , 10 on buddies list ..which is bull because i got a Supertab and it never pays it self off, iv been with them for almost 3 years and i only paid off 200$ off my phone

hey thanks to this thread i just saved myself almost 90 $ a month! turns out rogers gave me unlimited canada wide calling for 10 bucks, so i scrapped my US phone! woot woot

btw i now pay $60 for unlimited calls and txts in canada

I have the same phone and pretty much the same plan (I have 2500 weekday minutes/month instead of weekly).

+1 on the 6gb, I like not having to worry about going over.... because those charges are ridiculous
