Whats up everyone, new rider, dont know much about bikes yet so please bear with me. The bike I bought is 12 years old. Its in mint condition....have only been riding it for a month...I recently noticed that the front break is slightly squeeking....Should I be concerned. Get it fixed? Or maybe its just cuz its a 12 years old bike?

Thanks for any advice anyone can give me

Do they squeak all the time or only when you use them? I had brakes that would "squeak squeak squeak" when just driving and it was due to uneven pad material buildup on the rotors rubbing the pads as they went by. A shop cleaned/scuffed the rotors (and installed new pads because mine were almost finished), and no more squeaking when just driving.

When I had squeaks only when you used them the shop put brake grease all over the back of the pads, polished and lubed the slide pins, and voila, squeaking was gone :)

I would check the front wheel bearing while you're in there, probably replace the the front and rear with your next set of tires.

Good luck.

Its not always squeeking, just when I pull the lever to break.

It could be the brake pads limiter. Have your brake pads check it may need replacement.

Thats cars

But ya, if you have material left, the brakes aren't pulsating or doing anything strange, short of disassembling, cleaning and lubing the calliper, I wouldn't worry about it
