Sizing a jacket for the gf

Her birthday is coming up, and needs a riding jacket before I'll take her on any kind of trip on the bike.
Due to my work schedule I can't get her in to a store to size her plus I want it to be a surprise.

She is tiny... about 5'1", maybe 105 lbs or less...
Says she takes a small in her coats, but I'm thinking maybe an extra small to keep it snug...

Any guesses from the ladies here?

My wife is 4'10" and 90 lbs. We had a hard time finding something that fit nicely. We ended up getting an x-small, but the different brands all fit very differently.

My advice is to buy her something else for her birthday and then send her to a store to find a jacket that fits. There are too many variables and you want riding gear that's comfortable.
Every brand and every model fits differently.

Yeap, all brands fit differently. My girlfriend is 5'5, 120ish (I think) and she fits in an XS leather Joe Rocket jacket. I say you take her to a store and pretend you're looking for something and tell her to go look in the women's section. Tell her to try on a couple jackets and voila. She won't even expect it. I hope..

Considering motorcycle jackets fit is critical when it comes to protection and comfort, chances you will get it right are slim to none.

I agree with this, buying a jacket without trying it on just wont work. They all have their own fit.

Steal a jacket from her closet, bring it with you to the store. Grab any female (or smallishboy with freakishly large manboobs) and put your gf's jacket on them to compare. Keep note of the differences, then have said female or smallishboy try on motorcycle jackets for you.

Think what I'll do is get a gift certificate enough for a jacket from Ottawa good times and take her there on her b-day. That way, I know she will get one she likes and fits her.

Can't guarantee pics guys, but we are planning on a bike and truck wash day on the long weekend... A bikini may or may not have been discussed lol.
