Wow! I had an HJC for the past few years and it was okay. I have had my Shoei RF 1100 for three days now and have ridden about 1000kms in it and all I can say is, wow! what a difference. Much more comfortable, much less wind noise, much better view, much better venting, the quality of the helmet is easily felt in how the visor moves, flips, locks, how the vents open and close and how it sits around my head. I am impressed with what I got for my money.

I've had mine for over a season and I like it. Got the Hadron TC with an iridium visor. Good looking helmet and comfortable too.

The best! Better than an Arai if you ask me...
And no Arai is as quiet if you're a long-miler, headed for the west coast or whatever, you can't beat the Shoei.
Shoei's now start at $399 in Canada, so that's not too bad.
Actually I figure they're a bargain.

Them be fighting words!! Arai fit my head better than the Shoei.. though I'll admit, the Shoei had much softer liner.. but the Arai is a lot more balanced on the head; my lop sided head anyway :(

I love my Shoei. I had an rf-1000 and picked up an rf-1100 warlord last year and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about it. Nothing against Arai either, they're great buckets but I tried a few on and they just don't fit my giant melon :)

$399 Looks like a steal... I wanted to get one but I can't get around, that my HJC IS-16 has the sun visor inside. I find this extremely valuable.

The best helmet in the world will feel awful if it doesn't fit your head. I personally tried Arai and a whole lot of other brands, and Shoei fit me like a glove. I have the RF1100, and after 5k, it fits absolutely perfect. I regularly do 600km+ days, and the helmet is the very last of my complains at the end of the day. I particularly love the small circular padding space around the ear which are large enough to fit ear buds.

In another thread somebody complained they could not activate the vent covers with gloves on. Pro tip: use your thumbs and let the covers slide along the path of least resistance. Never had an issue. :D

How is the fit sizing???
I am thinking about a XXXL Shoei...currently use GMAX and Zeus XXXL but a HJC XXXL is way TOO small.

where are you guys getting rf11-- for $399?

Are you sure you're buying the right size?...

Yep...kinda figure I may have to go for one of Bell Fatheads or as they call it now Bell King Head M4 Pro....automotive helmet...

Shoei makes a 3XL in the RF-1100 but if you look on the spring Royal Distribution cat on page 99 sizing chart, Shoei's 2XL sizing starts at a smaller size than gmax or zeus...which is kind why I figure the RF-1100 3XL may line up in size with the HJC and be too small.
