Anyone have experience with these. I'm looking for a cheaper tire for a non ss bike and ran into these . Rear tire is $70 new and front is $55 new.

I'm running the 009's on my rear of my Ducati Monster and have absolutely no problems with it. Builds up heat nicely and inspires a good bit of confidence.

I know a lot of people knock them because they're cheap, but read the reviews, and honestly those who have tried it are pleasantly surprised.

Would I use these on a track or for some serious twisties carving... simple answer, no. For everyday riding in the city, highways, country roads... a very strong yes.

Just because a tire isn't made for the track, doesn't mean that its not good for use in other applications. For example, consider the converse; would you want to use racing slicks on the streets? I'm sure they kick *** on the track, but in the real world their use is severely limited.

just my .02 .... flame all you want.

I've been running 009's on my touring/commuting bike (2005 Z750s) for 3 seasons and will continue to do so. 30000km on a rear tire is phenomenal wear and they work great in the rain. Shinko was formerly Yokohama, before Yokohama decided to get out of the motorcycle tire business. The factory was sold and the new owners rebranded as Shinko. Repooc is right on, they are great street tires.

I installed the cheapos on my bike from Pannon $179 for a SET!!!!

I have absolutely no problems with them, not the greatest in the rain but anyone can see that because of the tread pattern.

Especially if your not an aggressive rider and use your bike for commuting like me.

I also run the 009's without any problems. I believe I'm on my 3rd of 4th set now and I'll continue to buy them.

Anyone notice that all the negative advice about these tires are from people who have never used them?

I don't need $400 tires to get squared off sitting in rush hour traffic. If your a newb and can barely go around a corner without duck walking you don't need dual/triple compound tires. I don't see the point of having expensive tires with huge chicken strips.

I've seen a lot of these shinkos on drag bikes because of the good grip on them.

+1 million

... this man speaks the truth. It's true though, all the nay-sayers have never even tried them. yet they stand by their uneducated assumptions.

Know what riding type/style your in to and then buy the appropriate tire. Everyone loves a good deal, Shinko is certainly the way to go.

I'm running Shinko 705's on my DL-650. They're an 80/20 tire (street / dirt). This is my second set and I've had no problems with them in all kinds of conditions from mud and gravel to varying conditions of road. Even for an on road / off road tire, they've got good grip and this tread pattern pretty much ignores grooved pavement.

I have them on my CBR F4i and they are great. I would rather not spend an arm and a leg for a set worth $400 when you can get these. Good grip in the twisties and they heat up quickly.

Great to hear. I wanted up front opinions as I already read some reviews. I looking to put them on an old '79 xs1100 we just fixed up. I bought cheaper tires before. I forgot the company but the model tire was call hi-max. Hated them. Crap in rain, tar snakes took them to a ride and never mind ground up roads. Ill try these shinkos. Thanks everyone!

I have the 005's on my 929RR no complaints stick very well, interested in trying the apex tires from shinko....although they are not so cheap anymore.....so I might try out a set of Conti motions as they can be had for around $200 per set and the reviews look good.

Well I got them on and the price was amazing. So far as a street tire they are pretty good. Ill try to remember to post and update after we have put so good clicks on them. Thanks everyone.

You made a good choice. Looking forward to reading the review.

I ride with 005's, no issues what so ever.

I wouldnt recommend those tires to my worst enemy. 10,000 dollar bike, 3,000 worth of gear, 1,500 insurance premium, 1,000 dollar deductible and 179 set of tires??? hahahah ill save money elsewhere...

and yes ive ridden a bike with them on, had a bunch of friends who also had em on, all come to the same conclusion, SPEND the extra cash when buying a new set of tires, its cheaper than fixing your bike and replaxing your gear

If your not an agressive rider than sure....I guess but I get 10,000km out of my expensive dual compound tires and they compliment my homemade baffel-less slipon quite nicely (that's where you waste money). Not saying they're good or bad because I've never touched them.
