Shannonville Nelson curcuit track day June 15

Our club is hosting an Enthusiast track day June 15 on the Paved Nelson circuit. Since we are a non for profit club we have kept the cost as low as possible. This event is for all riders: sport bikes, hypermotards, sport tour, quad, supermoto, ect. Separate categories for three levels of bike riders- Expert, Intermediate, Novice and Quad on its own. This is a great opportunity to improve your skills and check out the newly paved portions of the Nelson circuit. Since this is a first for quads on a open track day, I will only run this if we get the required amount of entries. Even though this is a Supermoto Ontario event, we are only running pavement. Quads are a big part of our Supermoto series and are exciting to watch. Lap times are on par with bikes!

Instruction will be available throughout the day at no cost. We are having a Supermoto practice the evening prior (June 14) and many of us are taking advantage of the free camping at Shannonville, which includes showers and bike wash and anyone else is welcome to do the same. We are going to put a demo on over lunch for those who are not familiar with Supermoto to see what it is all about. (70% pavement, 30% dirt on slicks)

I am going to attach the event poster to this posting.

Registration forms are PDF's and I cannot seem to upload them to this posting, but they can be found on our website by Feb 1 at www.supermotoontario.com or by email supermotoontario@gmail.com. I will be happy to email out any forms or answer any questions.

Thank you,

Keith Fowler
Supermoto Ontario President

Quads can run cut slicks (flat track tires) or knobbies. In our supermoto race series amateur run knobbies and pro run the cut slick. But since this is a fun day, all tires are permitted.

Is the 15th still going to be a race day?
And how is noise measured? Not sure if I'll pass and I'd rather not find out the day of.

Do you have to register or anything for the camping at Shannonville?
Not in my experience.

Noise is not actually measured at Shannonville. The 15th is a track day, not a race. The 14 June is a Supermoto practice with the dirt, but not the 15th. There is no need to register for camping, there is so much room they do not bother. We have campfires and socialize with some brews the evenings after a day on the track. They have decent showers with hot water too. I do not run race gas, but they have it on site for those who want to run it.

The cost is pretty cheap at $105 for early registration.

Okay. I'm just a bit confused because June 15th was scheduled to be the first round of SMO.

Supermoto Ontario has the schedule posted on the website. This will clear up any remaining questions you have and show the 16 race series we have this summer with two other clubs (Quebec and East Coast (US)). We have some practice dates we are still awaiting confirmation on and the other clubs are also waiting for a couple of dates. The September race is the finals for the National series.

The track day June 15 is for riders to get out and have some fun on the Nelson circuit. This is not a supermoto practice. That practice is the night before. The cost is only $105 early registration for the entire day.

To clarify. The poster "Spaceboy" posted is an old one that does not reflect the updated schedule and the poster "rm6keith" posted to start this thread is accurate and representing the track day we have been discussing. I apologize if the change in the schedule was an inconvenience or caused any confusion for you or anyone else.

June 15=Track day for all riders on pavement

Looking forward to seeing the bike you put together! Aprilia supermoto? They sound insane on the track. A guy out of Quebec races a 550svx with the dual carbon Arrow exhaust. Or are you bringing a sport bike?

Keith

I checked the weather and it is looking like 0% chance of precipitation for Sunday. We should have a fantastic day on the track!! Looking forward to seeing all the riders out in their respective categories.

Just a reminder that transponders are available for those who would like to know lap times and compare. Printouts will be posted on the board by the pop machines.

Cheers,
Keith
