Second gear skips

So recently I've noticed that my bike skips second gear very consistently. Going from first to third, and even from neutral to third. I never had this problem before. Could this potentially just be a digital problem? I swear one time when it jumped to third, I looked at the gear display and it just changed down to 2.

btw I ride a '07 gsxr with a gear display. I suppose I could try shifting up to sixth and see what happens (if it clicks 5 times or not). This has been on the past three rides and I haven't been able to ride a lot to get a better feel since I'm constantly travelling back and forth from the States for work.

I have an 06 750 and every once in a blue moon, I would be in 1st and the gear indicator would read 2nd while I'm actually in 1st, but only for a split second... not skipping a gear or anything like that.
It doesn't bother me though, I barely look at my dash to begin with. :confused1:

Did u do lots of wheelies and burn-outs with your bike??

lol no. it's been behaving lately. It's just the indicator, gears aren't actually skipping it just had me worried at first. I suppose it's not a big deal it happens occasionally but not all the time.

does it SKIP gears? or does the gear indicator malfunction?

Do you have a speed-o healer? My gear indicator is a little messed up. My gear indicator seems to be based on road speed/tach calc and since I modified the road speed it's confused.

I think most use that method

Sorry to say that 2,nd gear is the most problematic gear of all for most bikes with a bit of attitude. Your dags may be wearing a little loose.
Usually 2nd is we the gates of hell open and you know the rest. Sorry to hear but your not the only one if it happened to me it could happen to you.
Keep cool!
