Can anyone suggest a nice scenic ride from T.O. to Niagara on the lake? I have never been and I heard that there is some very nice riding through the escarpment down to NOL.

Trying to avoid highways and anything parallel to the QEW if at all possessible.

Many Thanks

Well to a degree you have to go parallel.
There are some routes already posted if you hunt.

Depends on whether you want interesting from Mississauga on, north Toronto on or Hamilton on and just how long you want to wander :D.

Once you hit Hamilton, take Centennial parkway south until you hit ridge road and take that all the way to Beamsville. Then either take old highway 8 or RR69 into St Catharines, if you take 69 you can run Effingham down and back before heading to NOTL.

did a trip there yesterday. ridge rd was nice, and we hit king st as well. there are a couple turns with gravel on the road though. once there does anyone know if bikes have free street parking? googled it but couldnt find an answer.

dont think bike have free parking, but you may be able to squeeze past the gated parking at the hospital ;)

Once you are at Niagara on the Lake, take the Niagara parkway to Fort Erie then back. Lovely ride! My wife and I rode that trip 2 weeks ago.

Effingham ......shhhhh nice road ;)

, take the Niagara parkway to Fort Erie then back.

instead stay right along the lake and wander up to Crystal Beach and then Point Abino - go left to Port Colborne - then try and cut down to the lake asap and wind along - nice road.

Hit Port Dover for perch and slab home up 6 and 403 and QEW

Thanks for all the suggestions. We took ridge road from centennial parkway, absolute aces. They other participants on the ride had never taken this route either and loved it. Unfortunately due to time constraints we did not have an opportunity ride the Effingham.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
