Just browsing through SBTG youtube page to find they having some awesome deals. Main product that caught my attention are the Scorpion helmets for 99.99

Has anyone ordered from them? If so, are duties extra or included at the checkout? Never ordered online internationally except Bodybuilding.com but they dont charge duties, only shipping
 
they charge $30 to ship to canada. I pick it up at the us postal address in niagara falls,ny for $5.

I have ordered plenty from them...professional!! with awesome service. Bought scorpion helmets from them without issue (awesome bang for your buck as scorpion helmets are over $300 in canada) No duty or taxes are charged by STG. Only taxes are when you come into canada (HST)

So all I have to pay is product and shipping correct? I dont have a US postal address so I cant pick up

Total price at the checkout is around $178 including shipping. Will definitely be ordering a helmet tomorrow after I go to kahuna to try on the right size first :p
 
If you declare it and pay the tax anyways and don't live like 20mins from the border, just have it shipped to you, turns out to be almost the same. May be you'll save $10-20, worth it for stay at home service

You pay SBTG for the product and shipping. You may or may not get charged taxes on the value of the items by Customs when it crosses the border. So HST on the purchase price that they mark on the postal forms. Plus likely a $5 handling fee by customs. You should not get charged Duty since Scorpion products are US made.

SBTG themselves would not charge duty or taxes. Canada Customs does that.

good point...to drive from beyond hamilton will cost you more in gas especially looking at the price per litre these days!
 
i bought my scorpion exo-700 helmet from them over the winter. I also added the tinted shield for $25. All together it was $170 shipped to my front door after converting USD to CAD (inluding duties). I would deal with them again.

Looks like I'm spending money today.

how do you like it over the suomy?
 
I highly suggest signing up for american motorcycle forums depending on the bike you have. American vendors advertise deals on there that are sometimes better than SBTG. SBTG usually has the best prices. If you find something lower talk to them on web chat and see if they'll lower or match the price.

SBTG can't officially lower prices because of the manufacturer, but if you talk them they do ;)
 
I prefer my exo700 over the suomy it replaced. I'll be getting another soon.
 
Just finished ordering my helmet from them. Total came to around $180 shipped. ordered the Scorpion EXO 700 with dark smoke tint and areo skirt.

Cant wait to compare it to my old HJC FS-15

So how long did it take for the product to arrive btw?

Just send jay an email and he will bury the shipping for you. Tax they can't do anything about and they have received warnings from customs.


Just as a side note. Motomummy charges $15 for shipping to Canada regardless of order size

Oh, the suomy is a MUCH better helmet. Much more lighter, the visor doesn't fly up on the highway, better fit. But the design on the Scorpion is cooler and matches my bike, so it's a toss up lol.

Good helmet for the price, but it is not a premium helmet.
