Saw the maybe the best outcome for an inattentive driver today

Driving to work this morning there was a women in an Acura (the small civic one) that was obviously not watching what she was doing. On the Gardiner/QEW WB she was leaving huge gaps in front of her and the other cars (while traffic was jammed) and she was all over her lane, kept doing this from parklawn to the 427 (texting maybe??). Right after the 427 traffic sped up to 100 and then suddenly stopped, she plowed right into the back of a stopped tractor trailer, not even sure she hit the brakes!

Hopefully she was not seriously hurt (did not look like it other than a face full of airbag). Glad she hit a truck and not someone on a bike or a car full of kids.

I was almost beside her when she plowed into the truck, it took a lot of effort to not yell at her and tell her she was an idiot...

Perhaps you could offer yourself as a witness. It could have been you she nailed.

I thought about it but she hit the truck nice and straight right at the back, should pretty clear what happened (not paying attention, rear-ended a stopped vehicle).

lol...the op obviously doesn't intend for the person to become harmed, but i'm pretty sure the driver learned her lesson...i believe that was their point...

^^ Obviously the honking she must have received from other drivers over the course of her driving career, the "no use of hand devices" campaign for the last 2 years havent done a thing to teach her.

Some people do take a hard lesson like that to learn.

My g/f has a "friend" like that. Shes texting 24/7. She wrote off two cars in the last 3 years but according to her it was never her fault. Shes been "side swiped" both times . Course her insurance is 500 bucks a month...i dont think your insurance skyrockets when someone else totals your car. To be honest, if she got into an accident and totalled another car by obviosly texting and driving, yea i'd tell her "Serves you right"

Not quite the perfect outcome.. but close.

Ruined that poor truck drivers day. If she had plowed into a gaurdrail or other structure.. now that would be perfect.
Still better then plowing into another car or a bike though.

Well, at least she plowed into something in which someone else wasn't going to get hurt as a result of it, and which leaves little doubt as to who was at fault.

Cell phone yapper, perhaps?

Happy shes not hurt and noone else is hurt. Agreed its one of the better outcomes but chances are its not her first nor her last. People like that never learn.

Yes, because critical condition is exactly the same as a face full of airbag.

Don't feed the troll folks!

And his post wasn't even turbothetical ©. He actually used a real crash to justify his leap in turbologic ®.

An online friend just lost a buddy. He was riding behind a semi and the semi hammered the brakes when a big road pylon blew in front of the truck. Buddy wasn't fast enough on the brakes and slammed the back of the trailer.

I don't know the circumstances but we all screw up every once in a while. Some pay more for the mistakes than others.
