Saw myself a police chase first hand...

Going north on HWY 400 @ 10pm near Barrie. A motorcycle following me (I'm in my car). The motorcycle has no headlights at all. All I see is this silhouette in the headlights of the cars behind me. I'm keeping an eye on him because you can't see him at all in the dark unless there are cars behind him.

We both pass a cop car at the Innisfill exit, and boom, the chase is on. I pull over, and the motorcycle and the cop blow by me.

As the motorcycle was passing me, he had his right signal on - like he was going to pull over, but just at the last minute decided not to. Must be one of those should I/shouldn't I moments.

Riding without a headlight in the dark is one thing but riding excessive speed, and running from the cops without a headlight...

I haven't passed that exit once without seeing a cop there, or someone pulled over shortly after. You got to be retarded to pass by there without head lights.

I hope he won and the cop flipped off the highway causing a multi-vehicle collision that involves no loved ones of anyone that we know.

Then we can blame the cops for being ****** drivers.

So the loved ones of others are unimportant? Good to know...

Sarcasm is a skilled trade.

Yeah, so if someone posts something along the lines of 'I hope that peson dies' or 'I hope they crash' and then goes "oh wink wink smiley face El Oh El!!! ha ha", then all of a sudden it's a sarcasm or a joke. I see now. Thanks.

luka jr. here...

Probably didn't have insurance either.

It was clearly a jab at gta forum members that rush to blame cops or others for ridiculous stunts pulled by other motorcyclists. The fact people didn't get it just makes it better.

My question is if the rider crashes and gets hurt or dies, whose fault is it? Rider error, or police for initiating a pursuit?

The way that rider passed me - he wasn't going to stop. He just gunned it and took off once I pulled onto the shoulder. The cop looked pretty determined too, they were both moving pretty fast. When I rounded the next corner I didn't see the cherries anymore - I'll assume the cop gave up? I didn't see the bike either - but that wouldn't be hard to miss since he didn't have any lights.

I was driving up Hwy 26 after - and it was a dark night - no moon light. If that rider had pulled off anywhere else but in the middle Barrie - he'd be pretty screwed with no headlights.

I'd hope the cop would be more tactical and follow the rider for a bit and get his plate # before flipping the cherries on. The rider himself was not speeding at first - we were both going 109 km/h - so he wasn't speeding... Well, until he ran.... then he was absolutely flying.

^ it's more probable that a cop further south, radio'd ahead to the cop at Innisfil to watch for a bike at a high rate of speed who switched his lights off. If he had no taillight either..that'd be my guess and the cop that took up the pursuit was already waiting and looking for a bike with no lights.
Pretty risky business..a pc of truck tire or the like and the rider would be screwed.

Forget just a truck tire, try anybody changing lanes. You couldn't see this guy at all unless there was a car behind him. He was wearing all black, dark helmet. It was one of those nights that was just pitch black. If he was beside me, I wouldn't be able to even see him during a shoulder check.
