Saw a motorbike today at the Yonge & Dundas area with a City issued parking permit...

This afternoon at Elizabeth and Dundas St.- just west of Bay & Dunda by the Longos Supermarket, I saw Honda Shadow with a plastic City of Toronto parking permit which had a barcode and an expiry date- May 2013. He/she had it bolted to the rear bolt that on the fender....

So I've never come across this anyone aware of this parking permit? I know of the on-going issue with the City trying instate a parking for motorbike law but thought that's in the fence for now.

Is this a permit for motorbike to park all day/night or something?

Yep that's the one!!....whew, when I saw that permit, I was ******** myself thinking damn! that F@#@ing Del Grande got this in somehow...but then back in the office I think after going through the sticky realized it wasn't news but still thought just maybe......

So I guess the Ford Del Grande team can still put this through if they want to as there is a basic permit system in place for bikes all they need to do is make it a law and issue this same kind of permit for everyone who wants to park in the Green P. I thought they needed to come up with a new implementation strategy, which would have been a road block as a cost to benefit ratio. Well with Fords and his whole bucket loads of problems just trying to stay in office and Del Grande as an ex-budget chief, I hope this issue stays on the back burner.

nfg is right, this is a completely separate thing. This permit is required if you need to park your car/bike overnight on your local streets, and those streets have permit parking restrictions. It has nothing to do with pay-and-display meters.

No end run or grand conspiracy. Everything is still quit on the pay-and-display front.

I hate those parking restrictions that require permits - you forget to move your vehicle to the other side of the street on the specific date and you're stuck with a parking ticket.
