Satisfied Customer with Painting at Reflections

I am at the tail end of a customization project with my BMW K75. I had a number of small pieces that needed painting, miscellaneous parts from various areas of the drivetrain and body. Some were metal, others plastic. All were to be the same colour.

I chose to go with TJ at Reflections Autobody in Niagara Falls and didn't regret the decision.

I'd had a not-so-good experience with another painter, not even remotely connected with Reflections, so I was wary. I talked with TJ and he offered to do the work for a fair price and within my timelines. So, I brought the parts to him. We discussed my needs -- longevity and adhesion for the paint to the surfaces especially the drive train components, colour matching to a Duplicolour engine enamel and different clear coat textures on some parts.

TJ performed the job to my satisfaction. He experienced a hiccup in timing because of personal matters but was very communicative about the issue. I was impressed with his communications because that was the greatest failing of the other painter. As any customer would expect, if you're working to a timeline in your project, you need to understand how your schedule is being impacted by your subcontractors. Its good to work with vendors who understand this and work with you.

TJ went beyond my expectations. We had originally discussed using the same Duplicolour enamel but TJ had his paint supplier mix up an exact match in a 2K waterbase so that he could apply it more precisely. Kudos!! Also, he had my brake MC media blasted to remove the old coating, revealing factory embossing that would have otherwise been lost. More kudos!! He used good cleaning techniques prior to painting and adhesion promoter on both aluminum and plastic parts to ensure the life of the paint job. There were some handlebar controls that needed careful painting and he ensured that the masking retained the precision of the parts; that the paint wouldn't layer up and interfere with the reassembly.

TJ is a great guy and I highly recommend consulting him when you have a painting project. He's honest, fair and personable.

It looks like I never posted what my finished project from last year looks like. Fortunately, it still looks like this!

I have another project on the go for this winter ... more on this later!

Yep I agree. He painted a belly pan for me and I will contact him with more painting needs in the future.
