Samsung Galaxy S3 motorcycle mount

Will you be using it as a GPS? or?

Maybe he wants to Skype while riding? Record his rides?

I always thought it silly to have a $600+ Samsung/iPhone etc as your GPS, when a perfectly good $150-200 Garmin will do just fine.

Phones aren't waterproof ;)

I feel the same way. Plus I would be way too paranoid of it falling off, or forgetting it on the bike and someone lifting it

RAM, don't get the X grip, I still don't trust it. Here's what I got.
Really secured, and costed me 65$ shipped 1 day.

Ultimate Addons from UK.
Best option hands down, i have the standard and waterproof versions of the S2 case/mount and have been through 2hr storms with it mounted on the tripples....

If they have a version for S3 it would be my bet.

That's $150-$200 more than the cell phone you already have.

I got a cheapie off eBay and hasn't failed yet. If you are planning on using it as a GPS know that it absolutely destroys your battery life. You can hope for maybe 3 hours tops. That said Google Navigation is one of the better Nav systems I've ever used. Better than my TomTom and the Mitsubishi on-board GPS imo.

Thanks for all the reply's, looks like if and when I'm ready, I might go with the ram steering stem mount, 3" or 6" arm, and currently undecided on the ultimate add on water proof case or the hook cradle.
Again, thanks for all the advice.

Don't buy the garbage plastic mounts on ebay. They're going to break IMO because it's plastic and won't handle the bumps and potholes. lol

So far the RAM mount I got is perfect and no problems. Very stable.

The only thing I worry is if I leave it on the bars, someone who knows about RAM mounts can just untwist and steal the whole thing. Good thing I got bags so I can just throw them in there. But who knows, sometimes you get lazy lol

there's a few GPS programs that a lot more powerful than a regular GPS. wave.com is one of them
