So I am a VERY avid blackberry user....I do a lot of work e-mails on it...etc.

I was thinking about buying a used/unlocked Samsung Galaxy S 2 ....any opinions?

I want better multimedia...and the blackberry isn't cutting it one bit....

Or is something like the HTC sensation a better phone??

Funny. I was thinking of doing the very same. Getting tired of my BB Torch.

is the 'infused' version the same phone but bigger screen?

How are these phones on data usage?

You're with virigin right?

Just ship... cuz you're going to get raped in the *** for data. They're the same for data as any other blackberry.

I am with virgin....

What do you mean on the data?

Are the androirds push service? or are they like iphones that check emails every 15mins??

Iphones havent done this for like 2 years now.

I have the SGS2, and it is the best phone I have owned. (multimedia wise) I laugh at my sisters iPhone4.. What specifically would you like to know about it? I use it for almost everything media wise. My deck in my truck lets me connect via bluetooth, and I can play streaming audio straight, so no commercials, and radio programming from anywhere in the world. The web browsing is REALLY very fast, I had the old SGS, and this one is very noticeably faster.

If you're not an Apple-hater and would actually consider an iPhone then it might be worth waiting another few weeks to see what the 5th generation is gonna be all about. So far it looks like its a fresh design with a slightly bigger screen but smaller physical dimensions.

I'm actually really hyped about the A5 chip in a device that requires less from it than the iPad. The A5 basically blew away every other tablet so I expect the same with iPhone5. Plus with the wireless Airplay I basically have a game console in my pocket.

I want to see how the nvidia quad core chips will compare with the A5. There are a few tablets to be released this year with the nvidia chips.

I just picked up the BB9900, and I'm absolutely in love with it.

That said, the SGS2 is one sexy looking phone that was on my shortlist. I would wait to see the iPhone 5 though if I were you.

Personally, I'm hoping the iPhone5 has NFC capabilities in it.

I know there are a lot of apple fans in this site, I don't hate on it (that much), I used to have a iPhone 3G and at the time it was the best device out. Unless you are determined to keep with iOS or are used to it and don't want to try something different, why not try an Android device with the same power.

The NEW iPhone 5 which has not been released yet has features that are available right now in the SGS2 Which came out a few months ago I believe, the real difference I feel between Apple products, and Android Products is that with android I don't have to "jailbreak" my phone (and void the warranty), to use the device to its full capabilities. iTunes is the buggiest peice of software I feel like I have ever had. With Android its simply drag and drop.

Here is a quick peek at the new iPhone just to check it out. It looks nice, for sure, but with almost the same hardware as the SGS2 and out months later, I am pretty sure Samsung will release a quad core to compete with the duals that are coming out now.

Damn that was quick. Well the phone is not yet released, so I won't be 100% sure about anything till I can see it, just what I find on these "reveal" articles all over the interwebz. The parts you highlighted include info about voiding a warranty and jailbreaking it to use all its features. I have owned, and still own apple products so I know that is true. What part are you asking me am I supposed to not believe? The Quad core Samsung again was rumored, but the way computer hardware goes it seems almost logical. Just to be clear, I am not a "fanboy" of anything, I just like to do whatever the **** I want with my new tech, and not have Apple dictate to me what I can and cannot copy to my phone.

Well that youtube video is an absolute joke for one. Second...if your iPhone is jailbroken and you need warranty work done...just restore it and take it back. Second this notion that jailbreaking is needed to take advantage of the phones "full capabilities" is nonsense. There are about 5 jailbreak apps that actually do something worthwhile and put together well. The rest are either aesthetic tweeks (themes etc) or are so badly written that in the long run screw up your phone (WifiSync and Mobilenotifier I am looking at you ). This is mostly because the majority of these guys who write these apps are your average guy with an advanced knowledge of coding. But they just dont have the resources to properly test and implement any sort of quality control for the apps. I mean they have good intentions and some of them really do think outside the box but they dont have to deal with or be concerned with dissatisfied customers or loss of market share and most importantly customer loyalty.

Also the "features" (ie; 123213 megapixel camera, ports for SD, MicroSD, USB, Zip, Floppy drives etc) of the iPhone have never since its inception been its forte...so to say the SG2 has more features is an obvious although moot point.

The youtube video being real or fake has no bearing on what my point was... so here it is again...my point was that my SGS2 requires NOTHING extra. No extra software needed to do what I want. I can load ANY movie, show, music vids, youtube, pandora, ANYTHING I want to do, I can. I can also STREAM this media on my TV deck in my trucks screen. I even use my phone to stream tv shows through Hulu FOR FREE, so I can watch tv in my truck on my phone for free. I am on Bell so I get to use their TV app as well. Because of this freedom I do not need to concern myself with any sort of "hack" to get the same features. iPhones are very restricting, preventing you from loading your own media files or using the web browser for full on web browsing, yes there are ways to make the iPhone work, but with the SGS2 I don't have to do a darn thing. Also how is it possible to talk about technology and say that tech features are moot, that is completely illogical, me having an SD slot means I can PRELOAD it with WHATEVER I want, 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, with a plethora of FREE software, OR if I don't feel like paying for anything, I can simply download a package online and have access to 1000's of full paid for apps load them on my SD, and boom its all good to go. Lets also not ignore that iTunes as a piece of software is completely garbage, which you are tethered to and forced to use, whereas when I connect I just get an open widow pop up on my PC which I can add whatever I want to. Even word, and PDF files... its really limitless.

I just don't see the appeal that Apple holds for some anymore, yes its good for the masses, but for me, I want the best, and that means I can do what I want with my piece of tech, and not what apple tells me I am allowed to do.

Umm everything you mentioned you can do with an iPhone without any jailbreak. Has been for a while now.

Because people dont care. 90% of people dont give a rats *** how many cores their phone's chip has, they care that it isnt slow and works well. They dont care how many megapixels their camera has, they care that their pictures turn out nice. They dont care how many or what kinds of ports its phone has, they just care that they can have all their movies and songs are on there. The average consumer doesnt care how you do it, they just care that it does what they want it to do. Having an 8 megapixel camera doesnt guarantee great pictures. 90% of people couldnt tell you the difference between 720p and 1080p so throwing all these specs out just starts to turn into white noise after a while. Apple delivers where 90% of customers want their products to. They are dead simple to use, they look amazing and best of all rock solid reliability. You may hate iTunes but there are over 200 Million people who disagree...c'est la vie. Once again you can load whatever type of files you want to the iPhone Word/PDF etc
