Safety Question

Hey all. Firstly nice to meet you all^^
I just got my first bike(used) and need to go take it for safety. I was just wondering what my options are. Can I get a temporary permit so I can ride my bike to the shop it will be safetied at? or is my only option to tow/haul the bike there?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for that info. Just another question about safety if you all don't mind. The bike I have has two different brand wheels on it. Both wheels are in good condition with lots of thread left. Just wondering if when I go take the bike to safety will they care that the wheels are different brands?

anyone know what it actually involved in a safety/certification? is there a checklist somewhere online so i can make sure everything is ok before i go get it?

Google

You can get a 10 day temp just like with a car.
... Or certain mechanics are willing to come over to your place and do safety on the spot (more money but saves you few trips).

Do you have a list of who provides this service?

I remember reading some posts where there are some highly recommended ones who will do this, but I can't recall who they were.

Edit: I'm in Markham

would help if we knew where you live...

I would also like to know of any shops in Mississauga that do safety inspections. And whats a good price for one I found one place that said 85$.

85 is the standard cost for a safety inspection from a shop.

Go to Z1 cycletech they're at bayview and green lane, just south of highway 7 .. Talk to Glenn, hes a great guy, same with Zaid

they inspect your lights, tires, chain, chain guard, pads, rotors ... i'm sure there's more to be done as well, just had one done on my bike today because i sold her today.
