How much does a safety cost? is it a standard fee? or shop dependant?

How long should a proper safety take time wise?

Any good shops in the hamilton area?

Thanks

Safeties depend on the mechanic. You can go to Canadian Tire and they will safety for $40 but they might dick you around and say you need new tires, new brake pads, etc.

You can go to Rosey Toes for $40 or he can go to you (don't know the charge for Hamilton area) and he'll be honest with you on what you need. If you go to him, he has lots of parts if you actually do need to change them.

Mine cost 50$ and took 10 minutes.
Mechanic took his time to look at all the little things of the bike and went all around.
Started her up, gave her a whirl around the block and then signed the paper.

Cyclewerks did mine. Awesome guys in there. But I hear nothing but awesome stuff about Roseytoes so I would say either of those two.

Twin Seasons Recreation did two for me for 40$. Denny was great to, because one bike needed a brake hose put through the holder and the other bike he spent about 10mins adjusting the horn to get it to work.

My buddy brought his bike to Cycle Source in Brampton and the guy charged him 80$. That sealed the deal for me, I will never go back there.

rosey toes is $80 if he comes to you, which, if you have no way to legally transport a bike yet, is great. (other than $200 tow)

cyclewerx were too busy for a safety of the GF's scoot... so we called rosey and he came that night, done in 10minutes+chat.
both times I've met him he's been great, and he's honest. he tighted her breaks on the spot for free and showed her how.

We don' t do certifications for $40. Real certs are done at the shop at a "going rate price". All others are money grabs. Two weels..one life..you decide. Thanks for the plug though :)
