Was just wondering if anyone here is taking the safety course on those dates at Sheridan Davis campus? It Would be pretty cool to know someone beforehand.

And how is the course there? How are the teachers? What are the chances of failing(what do I need to avoid so I don't fail)?

Even though I will find out about all these things in a Weeks time, I just want to know ahead if time.

Thanks

Took the same course last month. Had Sergio, Al and Sashin for instructors. They were awesome! Sergio is hilarious. If you get him you'll have a good time for sure.

I didn't know what to expect and I had never ridden before but I did ok. They talk up the skills eval at the end (the test) but it wasn't so bad.

Just took the course last week! I had Graham (an old guy) and Martin and they were both great. Martin is always joking around! I was in the advanced group cause on the sheet they gave me I put lots of experience. If you ride already try to get in the advanced group.

Okay, thanks for the info. I'm pondering where the class is going to be on Thursday? I didn't get any email indicating where I need to go when i'm at Davis campus. Also, what do I need to take to the class? Thanks again.

EDIT: I have ridden a 70cc bike back home for like 2 Weeks; should I tell them that? And if I do would they out me in an advanced group?

There's many groups and they put you in a group that they think you would fit in better. I'm not sure if that would matter for them. They didnt tell us either. Just enter through the front (if there is still construction at the main entrance just go around it to the left at the first door) I just asked people if they were heading to the same course. There should be signs (make sure your 30 mins early because it is confusing ahaha. All you need is your license (car and motorcycle) and then they will explain what to bring for the weekend.

Thank you mark for that, I really appreciate it. I had one more question. Is the parking free for Thursday class? And where do I park?

Yes, after 3 at sheridan, parking is free. You will be located in the G building if i remember correctly. Its the standalone building between two parking lots when you enter from mcLaughlin(sp?).

Right of the bat all I can say is, amazing course! The teachers were so great. I got Graham, Hans and this other dude but forgot his name.

All of these guys were funny as hell. I learned so much in the course; its inane how quickly you can learn things if its taught effectively.

I have to say that overall the course was amazing and I will definitely recommend it to other people. In regards to the exam, it was a breeze. Although I passed with flying numbers, there were people who did so awful the whole time around but ended up passing the test, which I thought was a bad thing. Now they are going to be a liability on the road. And then there were some who did great but bummed the test by dropping the bike.

I'm no examiner but that test was way to easy.

Good job on acing the course! And thanks for posting the update.

I would agree with everything you said except for the elimination at the end. In my experience they were very good about pulling out the under performers... Almost too good as there were a couple that I felt would have done fine if given a second chance. But I guess that's what the rewrite is for.

The test is what it is - a one shot demonstration of their abilities.

You can be a disater all weekend and luck out - the examiners have to give you the pass if you did everything asked for those 15 minutes.

The rewrite is for those who bomb their demo, often they cave under the pressure. Again it's not how they think you can ride, or what you've shown all weekend - only those final minutes count.

The instructors effectively take off one hat and put on an MTO "employee" cap. Their test. Their rules. No exceptions.
