Rust in my tank

just got the bike 2 weeks ago and didnt think to look in the tank, it doesnt look that bad but rust is rust. What should I do or what can I do and where.

look on line for por15 it's better than kreem for coating your tank. do it your self, follow the instructions, no worriers.

Marine suppliers will have POR15. Try West Marine.

Just curious, but how old is the bike?

age shouldn't really matter, i have 3 bikes from the 70's, and there's no rust in any of them. as long as you store them correctly, no problem.

My bike is a 1986. Well this is great news, I didnt realize that I could do it my self. Thanks for the info.

You might want to try washing it out with CLR and water first, If the rust isn't too bad it might be easier than you think. Rinse out the water with acetone. CTC should have acetone.

my 91 has a bit of rust in the tank, I have an inline filter on the fuel line and never had a problem.
