Russian drivers are nuts

Some of them were near misses and some of them were eed-yot pedestrians  But yeah, too many knucklehead drivers, mostly driving too aggressively and not adjusting to the conditions. Seen it happen here too.

Meh, just wait until we will have as many in-car cameras as they do. The flow of awesome videos from Brampton and Markham will be all over the world.

That's what happens when you have vodka for breakfast, lunch & dinner....

Thankfully due to traffic, those are relatively low-speed generally.

What I learned in Russia:

1. Drivers are very aggressive due to the way their collision investigation and insurance system works (always favours the "victim" even in blatant scams).
2. The driver who struck the other driver/ped/etc. is ALWAYS immediately ruled at fault by the police without video evidence (hence dash cams).
3. The "idiot" pedestrians are running insurance scams by walking out into traffic from a concealed place.
4. All of the above is why hit and runs are also very prevalent.
5. Many people are in fact drunk.

In Canada we have great, good, mediocre and bad drivers.
In Russia there are excellent drivers and god-awful drivers. Nothing in between.

I was thinking the exact same thing. This could be any country in the world really, when there is enough cameras to capture stupid stuff, it will all end up online.

I've been driving for just 15 years in Canada, and my personal observation is that the quality of driving has gone downhill in the last few years, but it went downhill like a freight train. If there used to be one moron on the road for every 10 good drivers, now it's getting to 50/50 proportion. IMHO, the fact that drivers in Toronto are getting more interested in video cameras is exactly because the general driving culture is deteriorating. I have to agree that there is no driving culture in Russia or any other Eastern Europe country, and yes, there are really really good drivers there, and really really bad. But I think that's exactly where we are going in Toronto/GTA, and going very fast.

So cars do explode when they crash..it's not just in the movies.

Didn't you see photos of the motorcycle crash in downtown a few days ago? It didn't explode, but caught fire from a ruptured tank right away.

Smart pedestrian at 0:08 Dumb one at 0:21. Earphones a factor at 1:50? Seatbelt issue at 2:40? A lot of the rest are speed / ice related but there's some good evasive action too.

And this is why I have dash camera installed a couple months back..............I'm also from Russia

Please explain your setup and equipment.
Does it turn on and off with the car?
Do you remove it daily?

Right now it's hooked up to car's lighter and turns on when the car turns on. Will be wiring it up to something so the wires out of the way.
It can do different loops. I think right now it does 5min loops. I think it can go up to 20min.
I use 32gb SD card. I never took it off. It always stays there.
Will post a pic later.
Oh and I bought it at Pacific Mall for like $54 :) works great.
