Route advice on traveling from Stouffville to Toronto?

I bought my first bike, completed RTI, and now I have to pick it up and ride it from Stouffville (just north of Markham) down into Toronto around the Yonge and St.Clair area.

Does anyone have any best routes for me? I'm looking for something not extremely busy, although I know that's not entirely possible in Toronto. Just looking for any sort of advice.

Thanks!

A nice peaceful ride -little traffic - take any road south to 19th Avenue (Town line 30, or Reesor - also 10th line, or 9th line)
Go west on 19th Avenue until Warden
Go South on Warden.... until you hit traffic - and then wake up - the fun ride is over. Prepare for a stressful ride all the way to St. Clair.
1. Watch for left turn idiots in front of you
2. Go through intersections with protection - car in front of you and on your left side
3. Don't feel you have to pass anyone - you are exposed to the above dangers if you do
4. Try to wear a bright colored vest that reflects the SUN!! People in cars text, talk, scratch themselves and farc. (That's applying makeup)

Good luck - smell the fields while in York region - visor up.

Which part of Stouffville? If you're closer to 10th line (york/durham line) you may want to take that down into Toronto (it ends at Steeles then becomes Scarborough/Durham line) and is pretty dead. 9th is busier although still relatively unpopulated but watch for gravel at the stops. Lots of dump trucks this way.

Then go west on Steeles or whichever east/west road you're more comfortable with, I like to take Bayview down myself but Leslie may be a little quieter on the weekend and no curbside parkers to deal with.

Or if you want a really easy but straight route? Take Stouffville Rd or 19th or wherever this bike is all the way west til you hit Leslie or Bayview and then just take it down the whole way into the city.
