rounded my oil drain bolt

cbr 929 the drain bolt is protectected by a ledge in the motor casing. so i cant just grab it with vice grips, or pipe wrench what has worked for you guys? i need advice from guys that have actually tken some out.thanks.

it is only covered on 1/4 of it, I dont see why you cant grab it around the other 3/4 that it is not obstructed on...And even where its covered there is still tons of clearance between the bolt head

There are many options even if you cant, but again you should be able too

i was hoping you would reply johnny, you have given me help before,your 1 of the members i respect, always willing to help. thanks again, ill keep battling with it.i didnt spend much time on it yet.thought i would get advice before i really ffed something up.vise grips, is our answer? or pipe wrench?
 
I would try vise grips first, a good pair and make sure it locks on nice and tight before you start trying to turn it...

Buy a new drain bolt, so you dont have to worry about mangling it further trying to get it off as long as you get it off...

Depending on how round it is, you can try smaller size sockets also...

And there is also a lot of stripped bolt head remover products on the market if you feel like buying something, although I think you should have luck using regular tools

Use constant pressure when your twisting/ un-screwing.
