Signed up for a mid April course for the M2

Planning on the written M1 in mid Feb.

Bought a 2007 Suzuki Boulevard M50 800cc

Ridden trail bikes for many years but never insured.

Not interested in any theft or collision coverage, just Liability

Welcome!

Since you have no prior experience, call up a State Farm agent and see what they quote you (since they will consider your car insurance experience when rating your bike). State Farm should be quite reasonable on that bike . . . perhaps $1000/yr give or take. After your first year, Jevco will probably be quite competitive and will beat out State Farm.

I started when I was 54. Jevco was around $700 but that was with an old Honda CB200T. It dropped to about half that after a year.

I don't think anyone can really give you quote, even a rough one unless they're a broker as rates can depend on many factors such as driving record, multi-line discounts, area you reside in, and whatever else I cant think of. Your best bet is to make a 5 minute phone call to a couple insurance companies rather than waiting for a reply here.

I am pretty close in age, but I had my M2 for over a year when I bought my bike last spring. Jevco quoted me $530 which was the best at that time, but having the M2 for over a year reduced the rate. That was for liability alone.

Good luck in your search. Post your findings here afterwards.

Double-J, what Lyndsay (Lindsay) are you looking for? I used to live "out west" (Alberta) 30 years ago.

I got $1353 with Jevco - liability only.
