Rotating Tires

After a few track days the right side of my rear is more worn than the left. Any real reason why I shouldn't rotate it to get a few more days in?

It is a street tire so there are water channels and I"m sure rotating will have an affect on how these channels perform, but how much?

In the rain it will trap the water rather than moving it away from your contact patch....that means a quick crash. In the dry however I would say the the carcass construction and belts would be the deciding factor on weather you can flip your tires. I flip my slicks for the track but I have asked a dunlop and perreilli reps (depending on the tire I was using) before and made sure that it was ok to do that

Not sure about street tires, but you may want to find out the belt construction on them before you flip them.I flip my pirelli diablo supercorsa track tires with no issues.

I flip Dunlop rears all the time. I do not flip Dunlop fronts though.

Any advice on how to find out the belt construction, Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP.

See above. Pirelli = Orion Motorsports or Uber Racing. For what it's worth I know other riders that flip Diablo Supercorsa fronts and rears.

I have never fliped a front either. any reason why you dont flip them?? I was told last weekend that they could be flipped.

Which Dunlops? Last i heard the UK KR106 click was not a zero-degree belt and it won't perform as well backwards. Also, they never wear out so there isn't much point in flipping them.

Not sure about the US slick front.

Yeah Im on the US ntec slick and it dosent seem to wear either. will likely be changing for heat cycles before it wear get anywhere near where I would consider flipping

That's how I was doing it as well. Usually 3-4 rears per front. I have run in the 1:09s on Pro Track on a front tire with 200+ laps on it.

Was talking to the Pro 6 guys at 'bogie this weekend just gone. They say that botht the front and the rear US NTEC slicks can be reversed. Whetehr you do or not depends on which tracks your riding I suppose. I ride mostly at 'bogie which is a from memory 8 rights and 12 lefts so tend to get relatively even wear.
