It isn't likely VR46 would ever have landed a seat in F1 - it takes big bags of cash, and he's smart enough to not spend his own.

Getting a couple generations of motorcycle fans into F1 and selling a crapload of merchandise may have paid for itself. I can't see him being at the back of the pack so would be entertaining.
