Rode in this Morning- Dec 16....

Woke up and checked the weather, it was 2 degrees no rain, so good enough to ride to work!

The ride in was refreshing after 3 weeks of riding the rocket to work.

Hope this weather continues.. and pretty soon will be riding into work in January 2012!

Today the weather was better than some October days we had, can't believe some have winterized their bikes since October...

Looking forward to riding home with some tunes blasting through my iphone and Shure headphones...beats squishing into the 5 o'clock animal transport carrier ...I think even animal transport rigs abide by a law of not cramming too many cows together, the TTC has no such law to abide by....

Really happy to see so many people still riding this year. it seems like last year everyone was harping how the tires would slide off the ground if it wasn't october.

this year I'm seeing bikes everyday.
glad the weather is holding out. most days I'm not even using my heated liner. wearing it, but turned off. just pumping up the heated gloves and enjoying the fog free snowmobile visor.

I'm expecting good weather now means terrible february. Hop I'm wrong.

Does your heated gloves keep your finger tips warm? which on are they?

Why have you been taking the subway to work the last 3 weeks? It has been great riding weather (for December) all month....

I rode in the first few days of December, then there were a few days of rain...and I hate getting caught in the cold winter rain on the DVP an 401 in rush hour, traffic stands still. So got into the routine of the TTC and reading for a few weeks.

If my commute was local and short I would have rode in even in the rain. I come from U of T Campus area- Scarborough East all the way into Downtown, Yonge and College, so it's the traffic that makes it unbearable on cold/rainy days not so much the weather itself.

I'm riding around as well, but haven't spotted anyone else yet...just a parked KLR 650 and a cruiser.

Rode from Brampton to Scarborough and didn't see a single motorcycle on the highway.

Good for those who are still riding! I still see bikes up and down Kipling on my daily commute...really regret putting the bike away a few weeks ago! Maybe this weekend if the sun's shining...maybe... lol

I'm also still commuting. Over 3000 kms since the beginning of November. 4 days this week, although I did need to throw the rain gear on for the ride home Wednesday. I figure I'll put it away after Christmas when I pull the skiis out (if we get any snow!). Better than last year when I put it away on Dec 11th.

Toasty warm finger tips.
Gerbings G3.
read reviews for a few days on all the gloves out there. the gerbings are the most expensive but you get what you pay for. all the others have uneven heat. gerbings heats all over. plus, if they break, you send them back, they fix em for free or send you a new pair. tomorow, next year, 7 years from now... doesn't matter. lifetime warrenty. Almost got the warm n safe ones but I was sold on gerbings warrenty. can't be beat, especially considering many of the gloves use tiny little wires that can break easily. got mine on ebay. zero regrets. way better than heated grips.

Lawlz, I was going the opposite way. Did a nice round around the Twin Rivers/Old Finch. Kinda got freaked when I saw some water down TR's first drop =S

Veej, you should take eglington across - commuter lane is bike friendly !

Great day for riding to work today, at 7 am road was clear and the wind not a problem. Glad I left at 3 p.m. just before it started to spit rain.
Since the weather is getting near freezing I pluged my bike in the battery tender jr. that I picked up at the december bike show.
Hope tomorrow will be another good day to ride.

Van has been coated with a fine spray of salt and water on drives over the last few weeks.

Any of you guys plan on selling your bikes, or even loosening screws on them in the future?

There's always an excuse not to ride. changed my shock after winter riding last year. yes, it required a butane torch to loosen, most likely due to salt.

no the world didn't end.

I rode all the way through December every day until Friday the 16th. I'm off for xmas holidays now so won't have to commute again until the new year otherwise i would have ridden again next week. I put stabliizer in the bike but will probably still ride it here and there next week and in January/Feb on dry days. We had a great fall. I only had to resort to the ttc once in all of December on a very rainy morning. Got a lot more riding in than i was expecting to get when i bought my bike in September. :)

A quick shot of chain lube (HHS2000 FTW) on the exposed mounts/fasteners seems to keep things rust free. I am lucky living in "the sticks" as these brine trucks you speak of, stay far away.
