Roadtec Z8 VS Sportec M5

I really like what people have to say about these tires. The M5 seems to get 6000 MILES. That is amazing considering they are supposed to have excellent grip. The Roadtec is supposed to get over 10 000 MILES. This summer I will go to the west coast and back. The M5 would cut it very close. The Z8 seems to be more suitable. Grip wise they are supposed to be almost as good, which is alright with me. I am worried I might find the Z8 too damp. Some people mention they are not as easy to lean over.

I am used to burning through dragon supercorsas. While I cant really tell if there is a difference in grip between tires in it's class, I always loved their profile. They feel very nimble.

Will I hate the Z8 if I am used to dragon supercorsas? Should go for the M5?
Anyone got some experience with the Z8?

I am considering installing the M5 in the front and the Z8 in the rear. Should be a good combo.

if you're going to the west coast it'll be 3000km of straight road before you see a curve lol

I put the M5 on front and rear at the end of last season. Have barely scrubbed them in yet but in that time I went on a couple of cold (~6 - 10 degree) weather rides, one of which ended up being through the rain for a good few hours. I thought the tires performed great but I was riding cautiously. I can't say much about warm weather performance yet or the Z8. Sounds like a fun trip though!

been using the m5's for 2 years now on 2 different bikes.
They are with out a doubt amazing.

I did 6000km gasbe trip + my seasons riding last year and they still have life left!
they wore fairly evenly and had great runs in the rain/colder temps.
they also stick like glue cornering.

check Glen @ FS motorcycle, he has some amazing pricing on m5's. Same or cheaper than Pete's.

+10 for the m5's, im ordering a new set asap.

Yea the 3000KM will be brutal, but you can bet I will be excited in my first curve. I want my tires to stick. Would be a waste to go all the way there and not go all out.

Ride? CBR F2. Disposable bike, plus I have one for parts. I really like them. Full out sport bike in their day, but they are comfortable. My first bike was an F2. Being broke and young I kinda skipped the whole maintenance thing and it was extremely reliable. It should be a lot of worry free fun.
