RIP? 401 EB near carlingview

I heard about it. Very sad indeed
 
My buddy and I hopped off at Renforth because of the traffic but didn't know what had happened until someone at the local McDonald's told us. Very sad, hope the kid's injuries aren't too severe. RIP

A 48-year-old Mississauga man was killed when the motorcycle he was driving slammed into the rear of a pickup truck on Highway 401 near Highway 427 Saturday afternoon.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

A 14-year-old boy was a passenger on the motorcycle. He was airlifted to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The two people in the truck were not hurt.

It happened just after 1:30 p.m.

Eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed until just after 6 p.m. while police investigated.

Oh no. All day I feared the worst: Rider and significant other. Never entered my mind that a child might be involved. RIP + GWS.
 
This always bring a chill down my spine. I hate these threads.

Yep, most likely father & son. I highly doubt it was recklessly riding, more likely bad judgment
 
Frak....I was stuck in that jam coming home from a ride and they closed the highway EB @ Dixie. It's been too many of these threads recently.

There was also an incident here at Lakeshore / Mimico Ave yesterday but just heard of an injured rider.

I drove through the worst of it around 4pm. With 2 left lanes blocked. I saw a driver of a honda pilot being interviewed and the remains of the bike and the covered body was visible even though they had 4 OPP suburbans trying to block the view... Btw I had just put a deposit on an FZ8 earlier that afternoon that was delivered to me last night - needles to say it made me rethink my purchase for a brief moment.


RIP/ hope the boy recovers...
 
How dreadful. Get well soon son.
 
It's sad to hear of other riders being killed or injured. It reminds me that it could happen to anyone and always be aware.

Man... I was actually stuck in traffic during this accident, on my way to pick up my Virago.

RIP Rider.. And I hope the kid recovers well. Ride safe everyone!
