Riding to Maine for a week, routes? must see?

Riding to Maine in July. Haven't done a ride of this magnitude before. Any advice?

What route do you want to take? Go through vermont... its nice.

I would go through Vermont/NH then Maine. Stay in NH - lesser taxes and motels are cheaper.

Try to stay off the main interstates where possible and avoiding montreal. Looking to enjoy some of the senic byways and take our time. Thanks

VT route 17 near camels hump state park
