Riding someone elses motorcycle

with permission, yes, but i wouldn't do it, unless you sign a contract for all damages.

it's in the insurance documents (for Ontario). Can't say anything about any other province as I simply don't know

isn't vehicle insurance usually for the vehicle itself and not the person? As for insurance coverage that's something that may or may not be covered but legally I'd say you can ride anyone's bike that is insured.

You can borrow someone's vehicle and their insurance will cover it. You cannot use the vehicle of someone else, for an extended period of time, without being insured on it. For example you can't have a buddy insure the bike that you ride on a daily basis for you. It's considered fraud.

One of my friend recently moved out and lives on her own. Her dad rides and the bike is insured. So can she sometimes take it for a ride? or is it emergency cases only? Even though she is not on the policy.

Thanks

Motorcycles are no different than any other vehicles. If you have an appropriate licence you can legally drive anyone's vehicle (unless you stole it).

Is the insurance valid? is a different question. The answer is yes, unless there is some specific prohibition in the policy. This is a common situation where there are young drivers in a household. Whether you got that policy by fraudulently representing the situation is another matter.
