Riding and hearing aids

So I was lucky enough to need hearing aids. Yes I hear better. Yes they are a bit of a pain in the neck.

If I put my helmet on with them in place they usually go flying when I pop it off. As a general rule I just leave them at home on a ride.
For week long moto camping trips I leave them at home. Audiologist says I shouldn't but, I can't have them in to ride, my tent isn't set up to charge them at night and they're goofy expensive if I lose one.

Anyone else dealing with this fun?

From the description, I'd guess that you are using over-the-ear units and those will come off when removing your helmet.
The in-the-ear units should stay put, though their wear comfort may not be as good.
In any case, decent hearing aids cost a small fortune and leaving them home appears to be the best option and unfortunately that will handicap having a conversation.

While I agree keeping them safe is a good practice.
Depending on the amount of hearing loss you may want to bring them. A easy way to charge them is to buy a small USB battery pack.

I'm the same way with my glasses. At times I carry three pairs. One made for riding (transistions with safety lenses, my daily pair and one for reading/ computer.

Indeed mine are over the ear. I have a battery pack thingy but you know lazy...
My loss still allows most conversation with an odd missed bit.

How long does the battery last typically? If you’re riding all day and don’t use it, and only put it on for a bit in the evening/morning it shouldn’t be too bad and it may last.

If you can charge with a portable battery pack it’s a simple solution. Or wire a charger to the bike and have them charge all day while you ride.
