If anyone wants to join, I'm thinking about heading out for a ride this coming Saturday. Looking to do around 1000km - starting about 7am.

edit: With a slight change of plans, I'm going to do a pavement only ride. The north Algonquin roads will have to wait. I have the Lee Parks Level 2 course coming up next weekend and I haven't practiced anything from level 1, so it would be nice to get a bit of practice time in on pavement. I'm headed to the Muskoka's I think.

Here's the new route. It's still about 10-12 hours...

I'm leaving Toronto at around 7am and I'd like to be back before dark. I'll probably pack a lunch so I can spend my money on gas than at a restaurant. I do like to stop every now and then for pictures and stuff, but I like to pack in as many roads as possible!!

I ride at a spirited pace (not reckless), but not enough to lose my license - so this is not for the inexperienced or easily fatigued...

If you are interested, then post up and we can try and work out a meeting spot.

Cheers!

dam that looks awesome. gonna try and get all my calls scheduled for Sunday.

It has been a while... There is definitely gravel on this one though...

As for my route up north, we could meet up at the Tim's off Innisfil Beach Road if that is best for you, or the one at Essa Rd. Either way, I'm going up Hwy 400>11>17. Coming home, maybe through Maynooth, Elephant Lake Rd, etc, but I'm totally open to other ways, as long as it's interesting....

I do know that the road into Brent (Points A to B on the map) is 40 km of windy, hilly hard gravel. It's supposed to be a lot of fun. I also wanted to check out a road called Bissett Lake Rd, but it goes well into the park, so I'm not sure if it's considered trespassing there.... I've read that some of the other roads going into the park may be closed to motorcycles, but there's only one way to find out.

Yup. Each way... so because it's an out and back, that would be 80km. It's supposed to be really hilly and windy. I just want to ride some different roads instead of the usual Haliburton and Muskoka ones. I only have the day to ride, so I can't venture too far (U.S.). I'm doing this on my street tires and my bike weighs around 600lbs.

A few weekends ago, I went on some of the most amazing and fun roads on the west edge of Algonquin, so I wanted to hit more of them up.

Any other suggestions?:)

Not really a gravel guy, my bike/tires really dont like the stuff.
I need to get a dual sport.
80 k of gravel is just not appealing to me on this bike.
Plus I'm trying to sell it, would really suck if I laid her down.
I may still come but will part ways at Algonquin I that's cool?

No sweat. Come for as long as you feel comfortable - I don't want you to drop it either... If possible and if it works with you, I might even try for an earlier start so I can be up in Barrie area around 7ish.

On a side note, I do have the level 2 of the Lee Parks course next weekend, and I have done very little street riding to practice anything from level 1, so it would be good to go on a paved ride.

edit: new route with paved roads only. Still leaving at or before 7am.

I think I will join you. I'll be coming from kitchener so let me know where to meet, and early is not a problem so I can be there for 7 or earlier. There are a few roads I want to hit up there so I may branch off at some point. The map isn't coming up for me so I'm not sure your plans but i think well figure something out. I don't have any room for food so I will need to stop at some point to eat. I hate carrying a backpack especially up that way.

Im interested in this as well. Pls msg meeting place. I prefer to buy lunch, but i suppose i could pack a power bar if we can't.

Ya but something confirmed would be good. I'm riding out from kitchener so that's a heck of a way away if no ones gonna be there. And he's leaving from Toronto so it would be nice to stop there for a break. 2 hrs straight on my bike is damn near impossible lol.

Shane did say he wanted to get out there asap and suggested tims @ innisfil beach.

could be a good meetup for 730-8?

Hey All,

Sorry I was out all day and just got in... 8am at the Innisfil station is perfect. I'm not sure why the map doesn't open for you, but yeah it's a bunch of the better roads through the Muskoka's - mostly secondary roads and not a leisurely cruise type thing.

As for lunch, I was kinda hoping to not do a really long, 2hr, sit-down lunch type thing is all. But for us to stop somewhere and sit down is still fine with me. I'll still bring some snacks and be buying stuff along the way. I have a top box as well if any of you buy something and want to throw it in there for breaks or whatever...

Let's all try to be there gassed up and ready to go by 8!

Dosnt look like I'm gonna make this one after all.
You guys have a safe trip, your gonna be hitting some of my favorite roads and the best in ontario, and Shane keeps the pace alive and knows the roads well.
I'm so jealous :(.
P.s. the 632 was just paved and is in perfect condition ;).
