Ride in today at -1....

So today was first day of the season that I maxed up on my riding gear....due to it being -1
  • Full Face helmet
  • Balaclava- Fleece -Marks Workwarehouse
  • Fleece thermals -Marks Workwarehouse (highly recommend them)
  • Windstopper liner gloves under Windstopper snowmobile gloves
Was an awesome ride into downtown 401 was pretty clear and booted the bike to 120 KM + all the way to DVP, then the usually crawl.

But my finger tips were feeling the cold...not sure if the windstopper ski gloves from Crappy Tire are good warmer...althought as I said I got the extra thin seperate liner that I wear underneath them, but still the finger tips almost froze.

Anyone have any recommendation for some awesome gloves...they use when it hits below 1? I have heated bars but I find them useless they're only good for palm and top gets hit with wind so that freezes and if you where ski gloves the heat never penetrates the glove anyways.

Purchase actual heated gloves. Heated grips aren't very effective at low temperatures for finger tips.

I finally wore my motorcycle jacket today.

Yeah, it was a bit cool.. I stayed off the 401 and did Eglington myself. Just had a warm fleece under my Jacket and was good enough. Heated Grips kept hands good too, so regular gloves.

Oh, I did close my helmet vents though. :)

Heated grips keep a small portion of your hand warm and let the rest freeze. Ultimate option is heated gloves.

What're you riding? Handguards kick *** for cold weather riding.

I'm on a Shadow crusier...I know someone had mentioned those "hippo hands" that latch onto the hadlebars kinda like the ones on BMW bikes...but they look aweful on cruisers, might look into battery operated heated gloves....

Other than motorcycle specific heated gloves like Gerbing,Tourmaster, Warm and Safe. I dont know any other gloves. Non motorcycle specific will be too thick and will limit hand dexterity. Try inserting some heat packs inside your gloves and add another layer of rain gloves like http://www.rain-off.com/ to block air. Best bet is Handlebar muffs like hippo hands- or this http://www.virtualvillage.com/motor...lebar-muffs-black-hand-covers-004616-055.html you can always remove them and stuff them in your bag wen parking your bike.

Hand gurad rules :)

I put 250 kilometres on my wife's SFV650 and had to turn her heated grips DOWN to 40% Man, these Oxfords are much hotter than OEM BMW grips!!! Overpants, nylon neck-warmer/chin cover, and a Belstaff short jacket with thermal liner. I don't know what's wrong with these people's circulation who say the back of their hands freeze with heated grips, but I have never experienced that phenomenon.

Try this glove:

Great winter glove. With heated grips I'm good till -10.

OMG. what are you guys going to do when it gets cold out?

I rode in this morning too, used my regular leather winter gloves and it kept me warm enough.

The ride home under the blue sky and sun was worth the minus one morning ride

I was out today and it was beautiful! It was my last ride for the year :(

i was out today as well, in fact i saw quite a few riders. it wasn't as cold as i thought it would be. But the heat coming off near the knee area of my r6 definitely helps a lot lol. i wore my leather jacket , zip up to the top and put on my leather gloves thats all.

Any particular brand you recommend? I assume battery operated right?

If you mean your motorcycle's battery, then right you are! If you mean another battery, no.
But don't worry, they're way easier to install than heated grips, none of that pain in the *** ness to deal with. If you can remove your own battery you can do it all yourself.

I think Studio Cycle Group has some in stock.
