any recommendations for a nice coffee shop to go to in richmond hill? Not a chain one, something boutique like. ?

They've closed all the good ones I use to go to :( There was one near Tower Hill Rd and Yonge north of Gamble but I believe that's gone now too. Williams wasn't very good but it was a place we use to go cause it was spacious and it's gone now too :(

They are all being replaced by starbucks. Their might be one coming near elgin mills rd e and leslie.

Panera Bread Yonge & 16th. More bakery than coffee shop but with free wifi, good coffee and excellent, fresh food... Plus you are more than welcome to sit and stay and I find it a comfortable atmosphere. I am actually surprised that Panera Bread has not spread faster in Canada.

It costs 1mill+ per location where more than half are corporate owned. It's an excellent atmosphere but it also costs more for a sandwich than most places. There is a higher labour expense for panera than timmies.

lol pannera bread...that is NOT a coffee shop.

If you want something with a nice atmosphere/ambiance, maybe head over to main st unionville in markham, which isn't too far. I don't know if they have any non-franchise coffee shops there but its always a nice walk/scenary/good looking ppl.

What kind of spread are they using? Is it a thick spread?

That's a lot of dough. Make one wonder why they knead so much, doesn't it?

Williams is not bad - it's a chain but with the same chain-ness as Panera. It's at Yonge & Elgin Mills in the same plaza as Empire Theatre.

I like Aroma at Bathurst and Rutherford

lol gosh, are you guys one of those losers that do nothing but sit at a cofee shop and look at your bikes?
boooooooooooringgggg................

They usually own the building they build on and pay rent for land. Big facility with lots of equipment etc... Most upscale bars are the same.
