Review: Speedworx (Tire Purchase & Replacement)

Went to Speedworx after meeting the crew from there through the Racer5 program to get some tires for my bike.

  • Emailed Fawaz about replacing the tires on my bike and possibly working out a price. In the past I have done the labor myself after Frekeyguy showed me how to do it a few times and ordered my tires from Pete's or Pro6. Fawaz was super committed to being competitive price wise and I was extremely happy with the value he provided for the service he included.

  • I live close to Barrie but work in Toronto at a shop that has the same hours as Speedworx. Fawaz arranged to meet me at the shop to drop the bike off after hours. We arranged a time to come back and pick up the bike during normal business hours. Above and beyond for a simple tire change in my opinion.

  • When I picked it up he went over a very detailed inspection list on the bike from top to bottom. He also confirmed tire pressures were where I wanted them and performed a full waterless wash. The bike was cleaner then I normally keep it which really says a lot since I'm super detailed in my cleaning routine. There was zero scratches on my freshly powder coated rims.

I would definitely do return business and will continue to recommend this small shop to anyone looking for a friendly and knowledgeable staff that treat you like a fellow rider not just a number.

Agreed 100 percent!

I recently went to Fawaz for the same tire purchase & install. I sourced out different price points and Fawaz's price was close to the lowest price I could find. I Couldn't have been any happier with the way the transaction went. I loved the detailed inspection that came with it along with the waterless wash.

Fawaz is extremely pleasant to deal with, and he responds promptly to your e-mails. We had a slight misunderstanding in my booking but he still managed to squeeze me into the schedule.

Lastly, I love the fact that he's literally right across from my Cage mechanic.

I would definitely recommend his shop as well, and will be making further trips to his shop.

If you call him, Fawaz will answer your questions. I did it and it's working out well. I'm sure I'll have a glowing review next week as well. I've been to the shop before and it is impeccably clean and organized.

Calling Fawaz is probably your best bet for a quote. He's extremely pleasant to deal with, and you'll feel as if you've known this person for a long time after speaking with him.

So I can update with a glowing review as well. I needed to get rid of my Shinkos, as well as being do for my 30k service.
Called Fawaz (I really urge people to just call when you want to know how much something costs. If he doesn't answer the phone, he returns voicemail pretty promptly) and told him I need tires, oil change, valve check and all that goes with the 30k service interval. Asked about suspension setup as well since I didn't feel so good lately on the bike. He gave me a price, along with my discount for being a Racer5 student (there's no discount on the tires because it's a sale price btw). Sounds good.
Came in late near closing time as I had to run up from downtown during rush hour and dropped it off. Fawaz gave me a ride back most way home as well which saved me from more than an hour on the TTC. I had thought there was a newish air filter in there so I told him he didn't need to get one, but turns out it wasn't as new as I thought and he pulls a big one and manages to get one for me without delay. My f up, he fixed it.
Picked up this morning, tried to do suspension setup with him and Eric but they said everything already looks good already. Maybe just needed new tires? Didn't charge for suspension setup.
Rode back downtown and everything feels great. Bike is clean, sounds beautiful. Great price for full service.
I really urge you if you want your bike taken care of better than you can do yourself without fear of getting hosed by a dealer or some shade tree mechanic you can be confident to leave it with Speedworx. They really do treat the bike as if it were their own.
