Anyone riding a Suzuki SV650 (any variant) can tell you that the front fender is cut quite high in the back (2), this can allow water and debris to be kicked up into one or both of the radiators (1), as I frequent some of the less travelled roads radiator damage became a concern.
I didn't want to purchase radiator covers as I was concerned about lack of flow, so after a search on the internet I found pyramid-plastics and they had the product I needed the Extenda Fenda, now all I needed was a place to purchase in Canada. My good friend Tony from Blue Streak Racing came through and actually showed this item on his site, so I ordered away.
About a week later the Extenda Fenda arrived at my door, it was packaged well and came with easy to follow instructions. The one thing I will point out is installation is much easier if you remove the front fender as drilling four small holes is required.
I removed the fender from my SV650 and cleaned it well inside and out, after reading the instructions I was all set.
I applied painters tape to the outside of the fender to allow for easy marking of where I wanted to drill the four holes after ensuring my measurements were correct I drilled the holes as required, removed the self adhesive backing from the Extenda Fenda I mounted it and put the screws in. I then reinstalled my front Fender.
Here is the result.
As you can see it "tightens" the gap between the fender and cowling of the bike.
After having this mounted for a month I have yet to hear a single "ping' of a rock off my radiator or my cowling.
The fit and finish of this product is amazing, aside from the small screw heads it looks like it was part of the original design of this bike. It only took about 30 minutes for the complete installation.
If your looking to add a little "something" to your SV650 and want a little more protection for under 30 dollars, this cannot be beat.
