Hi,
Looking to connect with others who have recently started riding again after a long hiatus.
I had to start riding again to fully realize how much i missed it.

I just love it and am kicking myself for the lost years.

Years ago I rode a dirt bike across the gobi desert and across most of the Siberian steppe, so i have some experience under my belt. But im pushing 50 now and feel like a toddler learning to walk.

I promised myself id ease back into things and not be too cocky too quick. I shouldnt have bothered, my new bike Honda CBF 600 is keeping me very humble and im finding the re-learning curve pretty steep. i got my m1 and took the RTI intro course as a refresher but im finding my new baby a handful. its my biggest bike (cc) by far and even though its not a sport bike i CANNOT fathom anyone needing more power.
Id hoped the CBF would feel more nimble and forgiving so im going to have go slow with it.
Ive already had a few HOLY COW moments. At 100KmH i dont feel stable and i think the upright seating position makes wind gusts a bigger deal on this bike.
Also, im finding hot asphalt really slippery on hot hot days.Is that in my head?

one last thing.... i bought a Gopro HD helmet cam and finding it really helpful as post ride analysis. i can coach myself a little and see little mistakes and bad habits (like failing to turn off indicator lights after a turn) before they get entrenched....i hope.
I just needed to share some of my excitement ,
thanks for listening

Good for you mate. A couple of my friends are getting back into it as well after 25 years. I strongly urge you , as I did them to take a rider training course or two and look into booking some track days in your area. That will really help to bring your skill level up quickly.

thanks djm.
i did some research on the slippery asphalt and now know they are called tar snakes.
great name.
Hate them!

Welcome back! And good luck with the CBF. I too am having lot's of fun riding, albeit officially now :D. Gotta remember to switch off that turn signal but I think it has already become a habit after 2 weeks.

Glad you're here and ride safe!

welcome to the insanity and back to riding. Treat the bike with respect and take things slow, you will get there, and most of all never stop learning.
