So I recently got engaged and had to book and prepare a dinner party for family and friends... I needed something that could cater approx 40 people, reasonably priced with a private dining area and flexibility on times.
I ended up going to Asian Wok n Roll in Mississauga... fantastic restaurant serving Thai/Hakka food. It was the only place that said "what time, what day and how many people?". They have a private restaurant area that can hold larger reservations. But if you want a party-size with private buffet, they charge $20/person (tax and gratuity included, so that's $20 ALL-IN) for a 17 item buffet consisting of appetizers, unlimited soft drinks and full meal options. The only stipulation was there had to be 50 people minimum, which wasn't too easy to get since I was already at 40.
They even gave us more seating without question. They decorated the place with decorations we provided and had no objections to anything we did. Even the owner came in to make sure everything was taken care of, switched 1-2 menu choices to more popular dishes and didn't give us any time limit. We were there from about 5:30 to almost 9:30. They served the food in a reasonable order, appetizers, then dinner, and kept picking up plates as they were put aside.
Great restaurant, if you ever need to book a large party for $20/person all-in buffet, or even just go in for a casual dinner in a very well decorated setting, go to Asian Wok n Roll. Go in wearing jeans or a suit and tie, you'll never feel out of place.

Every other place (including her brother's establishment, Eddie's Wok n Roll) restricted me to lunch time hours only, max 20-30 people, no set dishes and no private dining area. I visited 13-15 restaurants before I found this one.
The only less-than-positive thing I have to say is the quality and taste of the a la carte food is noticeably better than the buffet, but buffet is still reasonably tasty. Even with 50 people eating for 2-3 hours, there was never an empty tray. But the regular dining experience is even better.
