Respect to special operations forces

Since we're on that topic, when are we going to send forces to retrieve the Canadian captured by isis in Phillipines?

im not too educated on how contractors operate. i just know they go on the circuit 4-6 months a year and make boatloads of tax free money if they're any good. and if u get ambushed or captured, you are on your own. written off

But why is one Canadian dead & another one still captured. They're demanding ransom still. They should just pay that $$ to some mercenaries & try to extract him

The reason why countries do not negotiate with mercenaries is not to save the money. If we set the precedent that we will pay for kidnappings, we will be putting every tourist, every military personnel and basically any Canadian that steps abroad in most countries in the world in massive danger.

That is why I said take that ransom money & get a contractor to extract him. Funny thing about the contractors is they fly no flag & don't get the same repercussions of a country flying in there.

I feel sorry for the poor guy. Just waiting for him to get beheaded. Almost as if his country has neglected him
