Renting bikes in Las Vegas?

Anyone have any experience renting out motorcycles? I'm heading to Vegas in March and some friends and I were looking at the possibility of renting a few sport bikes for a day and tour around the area. I've called a few places from an online search but was wondering if anyone had any first-hand experiences with any of the companies there. Looking at renting sport bikes.

Thanks!

I know there's been a few threads on here (one was just last Spring) on the subject. Did you search?

Thanks for the quick response! I did a quick search and it looks like most of the people posting that provided links to companies rented cruises for the most part. Didn't find any posts from people that rented sport bikes in Vegas. Did find some useful info but no referrals or anything.

Yeah....I know there were pretty much all cruisers when I posted and read up on things. I was going to mention that  Sorry. I believe that was also discussed though and no one rents sport bikes for the most part. I'd contact the companies recommended in the threads and ask if they know of anyone that rents sport bikes.

I used www.eagle rider.com last February for four BMW R1200GS adventure bikes. Got them with full insurance. They were easy to deal with, kept my luggage in locked storage and operated out of a BMW dealership. They even stayed late to let us return the bikes at the end of the day so we got the most out of our rentals. I highly recommend them.

There is an outift run by the local Boyz of the Hood that will rent you a sport bike and exotic italian cars. They display right on the 'strip' but I must admit, the Boyz scared me as they seemed like the type that would steal them rather than rent them.

Next door to 3735 Las Vegas Blvd South.
Small strip mall directly across the street from the City Centre (Aria). They rent SS bikes and exotics. Last time I was there, they had a 600RR & and a GSX-R750. (Bring your own gear).

I'll be there next week and look into details for you. Will post details on the 13th or 14th.

I was in vegas in early July for my 21st birthday.
We saw the 600RR and the GSXR 750. I would not rent them if you want to do spirited riding...
The Honda had a bar end missing, and noticable rash on the fairings. Same with the 750.
They just looked dodgy, like they had been ridden by hooligans wanting to go fast in a straight line, not actual motorcyclists that respect bikes...
Tires looked crappy as well.

My opinion is I rather ride a well maintained st1300 from eaglerider VS. riding a not so well maintained, and noticably crashed SS bike.

The people working at the actual store were not knowledgable either.

In the end it is your call though! Go to the parking lot next to that strip mall at night and there are a bunch of sickkkk custom SS bikes that people ride out with. It is definately a motorcycle friendly area!

Also if you want a wicked road. Head to red rock canyon! Its like 11 Miles of private road (all one way as well). All Twisties too its a mini tail of the dragon. Pavement is wicked too (costs $11 to gain entrance, but you can also take in the sights, go bouldering etc).

Have fun its a pretty wicked city!

Did you question them as to why they mount 160's on the rear of those 2 bikes, or did you notice?
I got a "funny" answer from the chick behind the counter when I questioned her.

I wouldn't rent from them 'cause I've been riding SS bikes too long up here and would rather cruise down there, but the OP is looking to rent SS bikes........good luck finding anything else in Vegas SS related for rent. Scratches won't cause the bike to run bad.

BTW - the cops clear that lot out about 5 - 6 times every night. Pitiful.

Check out http://www.2wheeltravel.co.uk/Motorcycle Hire/USA HIRE/nevada_hire.htm

They have DUCATIS!!!!!!

But you have to be over 25.... I wasn't eligible when I went.. Pity.

Gary, didn't even notice the tire size! I saw they had flat spots and that the chicken strips were huge. Both bad signs in my books.... That lady behind the desk said "take a flyer" when I asked her about the bikes. She didn't know anything...

Not to worry - it's too damn hot in July & Aug to ride there anyway (and enjoy it).
Next week's weather forecast is for temps around 0C at night. We'll rent a car, if anything.
That chick behind the counter rides an R1 believe it or not. She told me the 160's are to deter renters from pulling wheelies
The flat spots and "responsibility" strips are from the multitude of straight roads. If the sides of the tires were all balled up from 'spirited' riding, would that be better, and justify the rash?
That one stretch of twistiness you pointed out isn't very well known either.
Happy New Yr.

I got in touch with http://www.xtrememotorcyclerental.com/ and they seem ok. They might even be able to give me a group rate. Anyone have any experience with them? I did a quick google search for reviews but nothing came up. They've got a decent selection too... that 848 is calling me lol

i was in vegas last year, in march.
these are the guys that i used.
they were class. answered all my questions, gave me a good deal.
i was very happy with them.

Sweet! Thanks for the info. I was hoping someone of the forum rented from them before. Did they pick up and drop you off from your hotel afterwards? What was the weather like in March?

i have access to a home in vegas, with a car.
i was driven to their shop and pick up when i was done.
the shop itself isnt that far away from the strip.
if you bring a GPS with you, get in the cab and punch in their address it will take you there.

the weather was warm. not hot, but warm.
i rode through nevada, cali and arizona, it just so happened that i did get rained on.
take a rain suit or two just in case.
if you have any other questions PM me, i will do my best to answer them.

Go for that place you found, that other(s) have used.
The one I knew about doesn't have any SS bikes anymore.
I went in five minutes ago, there were 3 Harleys, 1 Corvette, 1 Prowler, a Viper and a Ferarri sitting in the lot.
I asked about SS, and they dude said "no more", and went back to pounding on his puter.

On another sad note, we come home tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up Gary! My party and I just secured our flights so now getting us some bikes is next on our list!

I'm just back from Vegas, went to the motorcycle auction. Three days of trying to figure out how to get a bike home.....

Xtreme rental in downtown vegas has Ducati, Honda, Yamaha sport bikes for rental. Very well maintained so i'm told. BMW dealer also has a connection to BMW dualsports, they have a lot of requirements to meet.

Be prepared to coughup a fair bit of cash and take the additional no fault insurance....... its Vegas.

The city is a crappy place to drive, getting out of town is key, I'd avoid driving at night. There are lots of critters wandering around the desert at night .
