Be very careful using hairdryers or heat guns.......... I've seen some warped fairings as a result of using this method.......... For what it's worth , I use an eraser wheel, purchased at a auto refinishing store....... it goes on your power drill and is used for removing pinstripe and decals from cars...... It works great on motorcycle fairing decals also, as long as the decals are on top of the clearcoat.......... If they're under the clear, you're looking at sanding them out, and that usually results in repainting the area........ These eraser wheels can also damage paint if you don't know what you're doing....... the trick is to keep them moving , side to side , don't apply too much pressure, or you risk burning through the clear ......... it takes practice ! But it works the best , of all the methods I have tried........... it also removes the gluey residue left by oem decals or decals that have been there for a long time......... Cheers, Les
