I've actually never been on an actual "date".

The title of this thread got me thinking....

I believe my first date was about 1974, more or less. Not a blind date, but I did muster up enough courage to ask her out. Her name escapes me but the recollection did put a smile on my face.

I do in fact remember my first date with my motorcycle...

I'm having a cold beer in a small deserted bar in Key West shooting the breeze with the bartender one warm sunny December afternoon. We hear the bar door open and we turn to see a hot babe in a mini skirt. I smile, and move my helmet onto the the next bar stool. She walks on over and sits down beside me. (I think to myself - this is my lucky day). I buy her a beer, and shortly after she is on the back of the bike. I did tell her to hold on tight, not that I was riding fast, just wanted to feel her body pressed against my back.

Oh, those fond memories of bachelorhood, it's funny how some things you will never forget. I knew riding with a spare helment would come in handy one day. LOL.

My first date took me fishing then to a family bbq where he attempted to kiss me in front of people. It didn't end well for him and I refused to date for 5 years after that. I've detested blonde men ever since too.

U've dated some colourful characters...

Yes, and I really wanted to impress her so the day before the big date I polished and cleaned my Yamaha RD350 including cleaning and polishing the seat with Armor All...we were suppose to go on a short ride, but it ended up riding from Brantford to Caledonia over to Niagara Falls, back through Old HIghway 8 to Hamilton and then back to Brantord. We went out for a long time after that. Our theme song was Paul Simons "slip slding away." and when we went to dances or go roller skating we use to request that song. But I never did Armor All bike seats after that....

My first date I went to the movies and watched dumb and dumber....who knew it would be a classic.

My dad armouralled my seat on my dirtbike before my first ever moto, I was not impressed.

Just got my licence so borrowed my buddies 67 Galaxy 500XL and took this girl to a concert at the colliseum in Vancouver, at the intermission we head outside to sparkup a doob. Now back in 76 Bic lighters were still a fairly new product and with a bit of modifiying you could get a good 4-5 inch flame from them, so being a gentleman I let her do the honors. She flicked the Bic and lost a good portion of her eyelashes and brows.
I didn't mean to do it, I just assumed she knew, every young guy carried a mini blowtorch back then.
Poor girl, she didn't show up at school for the rest of the week and never spoke to me again, and plans
for getting laid that night... went up in smoke.

do you remember your first blind date....did you take her for a ride and scare her to make her hold on tight?

I've been on so many I can't even remember them all. First date as a kid? I probably didn't even have a license...How was yours?
