I came across this this morning and was thinking that maybe the mind control he was speaking of is not pharmaceutical in nature, but rather conditioned behaviour: consumerism. Thoughts?

Mind control?

Or, I have strong opinions which differ from your strong opinions.

But, because your opinions are "right", I am narrow minded.

If you have a problem with people who express views other than yours, then that's your problem.

Yes, that was what he was talking about, but I was suggesting what may actually be happening at present.

His speech was based on the John Saxon movie Planet Earth, there is nothing new here or even relevant. One mans porridge is another mans gruel.

The speech appears to have been in 1962. That Saxon movie (and a couple of other made on the same sets with the same hardware, and essentially the same cast) was in the mid-1970s.

I agree. The whole thing in Brave New World is the use of drugs in every day life. In Aldous Huxleys great work Brave New World, it is what keeps people young and happy. Fantastic read.

Unless you're a Gamma, Delta, or Epsilon, that is.

Idk, I still think that we're being told to build a windmill, now that Snowball's being run out of town.
