has anyone relocated due to a job? what sort of assistance did the employer provide?


i have received a job offer in bc and this is what my employer has asked "What are your company sponsored relocation requirements? What specifically are your relocation needs?"


just wanted to know what is reasonable to ask.
 
The best you can hope for is....

Covers all cancellation of contracts to service providers. Disconnection fees etc.

Covers the cost of a house hunting trip, hotel, real estate agent, transport and incidentals.

Covers the cost of transportation from old POE to new POE (place of employment).

Pays for pack, move, unpack at final destination.

Covers the cost of start up fees for services and hook ups.

Pays up to one month salary for cost incurred.

That's best case and on the basis that they told you to move. If you had a choice to stay, scale to your situation.

Oh, BTW.... BC stands for BRING CASH especially if you are looking at the GVA or the island.
 
I have got two months pay for relocating, could have got 3 months it turned out. One of my employers would actually buy your exsisting house. Some get 2 months temporary executive apt.....can get more.
