Reflective tape?

what's you opinion guys and gals?

for the tire rims.. jacket... helmet?

Yay or Nay?

I found a black bike and my gear is black so even though I'm going to change the exhaust to make it more audible I'd like to take other safety measures for night riding as well... while keeping fashionable..

Can't really hinder you, from a safety perspective...of course, there may be those of us on the board who snicker (yeah, I'm guilty as charged) at the thought of putting it on your helmet/jacket, but it's subjective in nature (i.e. do what you feel makes you safer).

Having said that, if you go with something like this:

and this:

Then you're a cool mofo in my books!

Its your bike, and your safety out there.

Do what you think is right/makes the bike look good etc. Forget what everyone else thinks. ( unless they are paying your insurance, or bike payments)

I have reflective rim tape on my wheels. They look great. I didn't get them for the safety concerns but it does make people see me better in the night.

LOL that looks amaze balls I am doing it because i want to be safe... bc i dont trust half the drivers out there in my car so in a bike i gotta be ten times more careful..

+1 Came with the bike for me ... Its on the lip of the wheel

I'm definately adding reflective tape to my helmet (which is the highest point on your bike so sometimes people see that first) and my rims cause it looks cool and to be more visible what was that thing he said in the safety course....90% being cool 10% safety? or was it the other way around lol anyways I say yes!

Does anyone recommend a place or website to buy these reflective tapes?

Thanks in advance!

BTW, that tron looking design is wicked!

I am looking to put reflective tape on my rims as well. Will be ordering them from ebay soon. I saw some at Snow city but they didn't seem reflective even though it said reflective tape on them.

loud exhausts really don't do much for your safety, mostly just piss off everyone else around you.....

.

You can find reflective tape at any safety supply store or Ebay. I've used 3M brand in the past at work and it holds up very well. You can also buy sew-on or iron-on for clothing.

I put rim tape on my helmet. You can't even tell that the normal colour wasn't blue.

I had a shot of this at night when someone took a pic with a flash.... it looked pretty sick actually cuz only the rim tape glowed.
