Recommendations for tire install in the KW area

Hi guys, I'm looking for shop recommendations on getting tires installed on my CBR600RR in the Kitchener Waterloo area. I have the tires that I got with the bike. Hoping to keep my rims scratch free šŸ˜
Also, wondering about pricing. Thanks!

Are you planning to ride in and have them do everything, or are you going to be pulling the wheels and just taking them in to have the tires switched out.

Are you bringing tires you purchased elsewhere, or are you going to be buying the tires at the same dealer doing the tire change?

I will be bringing the just the wheels in. I already have tires (got them with the bike).

Friend of mine uses Performance Cycle regularly and has had nothing but good things to say about them.

Any idea on price to install?
I have changed my own dirtbike tires before but never on a streetbike. Not so worried about the dirtbike rims but my street rims are in perfect shape and I'd be afraid that I would scratch or damage them so I want to have it done in a shop that has the proper equipment.

Paging @Katatonic - He'll be able to give you a better idea.
Or, call them.

$30 per tire off bike.
The mechanic at Performance Cycle that I really like, and had been there for 25 years, recently quit. Not sure what that will do to the level of service I received over the years.

Another vote for Performance Cycle in Cambridge ... had my rear GSX tire replaced there 2 weeks back (rode bike in). No scratch and Paul the owner will take the bike for a short ride afterwards to ensure all is good.

Do you mean Sam?

I used to work there and Sam is a master bike mechanic.

I just paid $20 / each off bike last week at Mikeymoto. I think Rosey Toes is still $20 as well. Both have done my tires numerous times with zero scratches.

Maybe a month ago? Was definitely this summer.

Yep, Sam is gone. Too bad, he did great work and told it to you straight. No sugar-coating, but I liked that about him.

Every bike was a ā€œnice pieceā€ which was he way of saying it was junk.

Just wanted to update... I ended up taking the wheels into KW Honda. Couldn't make it to Performance Cycle between 9 and 5 and KW Honda was open til 6pm so I took them there. Cost $85 taxes in for 2 tires installed with tire bead balancing and new stems. Perfect install and not a scratch. The parts/service guy was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend them.

Bead balancing? Thatā€™s the cheap, lazy way of ā€˜balancingā€™ a tire. Lots of controversial thoughts about them. Personally, I would never use them.
I thought KW Honda would have been better than thatā€¦.
