Recommendations for getting a safety check done in Hamilton?

Bike's practically brand-new and is very unlikely to need any work, so I'm just looking for a place that's honest and charges a fair price.

Ultimate Cycle probably has the 'fairest' price, but I don't know for sure.
Sturgess Cycle.
Kelly's Cycle.
Cdn Tire.

I have used them 4 times for certs. $30 cheaper than my local shops.

CTC in Dundas has done 2 for me. Painless and cheap. Just call ahead to make sure a licensed M/C tech is on duty that day.

and since they don't sell OEM parts, they have no vested interest in finding 'problems'. It's usually best to avoid dealers.

There's a strong possibility that the mechanic doing the safety has a vested interest in keeping his license.

Another reason to go to CDN Tire. They are too busy to care about swindling the customer, and they can't sell you anything unnecessary.

This isn't rocket science. Tire check, brakes check, warning lights and signals check, chain, head bearing play, and any major leaks. It takes 15 minutes. You don't need a brain surgeon for this.

At Dealers, the tech's job is to insure safety, plus generate further sales, and the ethics of how they do this can vary considerably.

OMG!!
You gotta be kid'n me!! Doing a safety to insure safety? Who woulda thunk it?

Didn't see any claims re: 'rocket science'. WTF?
You're right - no brain surgeon required. Only a licensed mechanic.
FYI - I took my bike to Cdn Tire for a safety 2 weeks ago when I sold it.
A month before that (38 days, exactly), I took the same bike to a dealer just after I bought it 'as is' privately.
Neither shop / mechanic tried to 'generate' anything. The bike was SAFE according to both places. Go figure.
